I can't imagine a scenario where he stays. The only way I could see him keeping the job is if they wanted to wait to hire a permanent AD and let him decide on Hoke's fate, but they've already said the interim AD has the authority to fire him.

The school should have had Shane Morris utter the words "you're fired" at Hoke. Or maybe even brought in Vince McMahon to do the job. Hoke is a special kind of fool and his firing should be a memorable occassion.

Wow... the playoff committee REALLY hates FSU. I can sort of see Oregon and Bama ahead of FSU but TCU?!

It's gotten ridiculous. Undefeated and defending champions, and they're treated like garbage. I almost suspect a Baylor win would drop FSU out.

And the old SOS argument doesn't even hold water when it comes to TCU vs. FSU. Here's the current SOS for the top ranked teams. FSU has a weak schedule but TCU's is actually a bit weaker. Though I still highly doubt FSU is left out if they beat Georgia Tech. FSU's SOS would improve while TCU's will drop with their weak final opponent. I'm thinking FSU moves back up to #3 if they win the ACC title game.

Alabama - 6th
Oregon - 28th
TCU - 45th
FSU - 43rd
Ohio St. - 54th
Baylor - 64th
Arizona - 29th

You watch them play and they look terrible, but they win. That is good enough to get them in the playoff and once in the playoff they can prove it out on the field. Ga Tech can ruin that, but if FSU wins, they are in. a national title means last years team was great. They lost and gained many new players, nothing is deserved, and they have the opportunity to go out there and earn it.

Which one of these 2 Bowls means more between the 2? (Citrus, Russell)

From looking at some predictions, they got Louisville in one of them.

As a TCU fan I'm thrilled, it looks like a win and they're in situation this last Saturday. If I were a Baylor fan I'd be pissed though. Same record as the #3 team who they also beat and they are out. I guess this committee is just like the basketball selection committee and if you go by overall body of work, only 2 of Baylor's 11 wins are against teams above .500.

It's hard to say. I've heard the margin between #3 and #6 in the playoff rankings is very tight. It's very possible Baylor could pass TCU considering Baylor has a high quality opponent in it's final game while TCU plays a trash team.

They're equivalent. Citrus is the 2nd selection for ACC if a Big Ten team is in the Orange Bowl. Russell is 2nd or 3rd.

Georgia Southern went 9-3, including 8-0 in conference, and are not eligible for a bowl because it is their "transition year" (first year) in FBS.

They appealed twice for a waiver and were denied both times.

Interesting thought... if Mississippi State had won, FSU would be an undefeated Power 5 team and reigning undefeated National Champion, and not in the top 4.

You may well be right had Miss St. Won. As much of a screwjob as it would have been for FSU we might need something that awful to happen to improve the system, expanding to 8 teams with a revised method for determining who makes the playoff. I think everyone hates the lack of transparency with how this committee is creating their rankings. The committee is only 13 people so one or two extremely biased people can probably screw over a team from a conference they don't like.

But only 12 have voted the last few weeks because 1 of them has been traveling.
