They already did the mini-slipcovers with an enamel pin inside, just need to replace the pin with a keychain.

Hey Demon Dave!

Will this 4K of Giant Spider Invasion have English subtitles? I saw that Mirror Mirror had them in the Facebook videos, so I'm hoping Spider Invasion will too.

I'm planning to watch Forced Entry next. Is there anything of real interest in the SD version VHS cut? Since it's SD only, I'd have been fine with just the extra footage alone presented as a special feature. Just wondering if it's worth going through to see whatever the extra footage is.

Y'know gmb looking back Dark Force has done a lot of really cool slipcovers in my opinion. And I tried to come up with ones that would be more original and not just copying other labels. I'm most proud of many of them which came out way better than my expectations. However these slipcovers don't also come with their share of issues. We have obviously had factory defects, printing errors and they can easily get damaged. Keychains do sound interesting but I don't think they would be as popular as the slipcovers.

I've been really happy about the reactions so far the we are getting on this. It is the very first DARK FORCE ORIGINAL and this really delivers. I've met a lot of characters in my time in Hollywood including the great Banana Man, but this guy really takes the cake. I have never seen anything like this guy and his story is insane. My only hope is that this really catches on with the fans for his sake and I can continue to use this guy because he technically is still homeless and stays in a motel only part of the time. If you have any interest in extreme Hollywood characters and true Hollywood stories than DUNNING is for you! Plus it includes a who's who of Hollywood figures many of which come from the cult movie world. I have a real feeling we may be on the brink of DUNNINGMANIA!

What happened with DF’s venture into adult content? We had Sharon/Terri’s Revenge, but I don’t see much else. I take it sales weren’t good?

I'm not sure what sales were like, but they also did another adult title which was "Lialeh" on blu ray. I think Code Red tried to team up with Dark Force to release the infamous "Water Power", but that never materialized. Hopefully, we get some adult titles from them, but who knows. Personally, I would love to see them upgrade the comedic soft core "Teenage Hitchhikers" to 4k UHD. The blu ray, which looks beautiful, was actually a good seller for them if memory serves correct.

Does it mostly document his current life or will it delve into stories about where he came from, etc. I imagine there will be stories from GLOW from Matt Cimber. That alone is worth the price tag alone. I watched GLOW since 1986!

Hi Demon Dave. I picked up "The Giant Spider Invasion" 4k UHD from the online store. I didn't see information on HDR for this title. Does this have HDR?

Great question, Retro. It starts from when he first touched down in Hollywood in the 80's as a dashing very tall great looking stud that quickly began meeting big industry people leading him to his big break as Sir Miles Headlock on Matt Cimber's hit series G.L.O.W. I can personally promise you this release will be worth the price tag. His story is amazing and we added some hysterical bonus footage. Most important though, I want the release to do well for Dough. Although Doug can be very abrasive and has driven me quite crazy in the past, I have come to take a real liking to the unique character that he is. He has already done a great job on the GIANT SPIDER "Savage Tracks" commentary there are a many ways Dark Force could utilize him should the doc go over. Most importantly we could keep him off of the streets which at his current age and condition is critical to his survival. He is an unintentionally hilarious true Hollywood character but can also be extremely entertaining. Hopefully the fans will agree. Appreciate the comment Retro.

Hey asmodeux all the Dark Force 4K releases will have HDR. We realized it is a great feature and we will not do any 4K releases without it. It works extremely well for GIANT SPIDER which has some great colorful scenes. Between that and the 4K clarity the GIANT SPIDER looks the best it ever has! Which to me is very exciting because it is a very fun movie. It's really amazing how this 4K with HDR enhances these movies dramatically as clearly evident in the previous Dark Force release MIRROR MIRROR. It looks so much better than our original bluray release, which was quite good too, almost like watching a different movie.

Sales were great on them. That release sold out very fast, in fact the inventory counter was off at the store and we don't even have one left for ourselves. The problem is ironically many payment processors won't accept porn. We definitely would be interested in doing more but would have to get around that issue.

Re: Forced Entry

I can mostly answer my own question from prior page now that I've watched the HD feature (83 min) and the SD VHS sourced version (89) minutes. I fast forwarded through a lot of the VHS cut, but did see what was here that isn't in the main feature cut. Mostly its additional footage of the assaults. And it's too bad there wasn't a good source for this, as it would be the better version, in my opinion. Given this is exploitation cinema and only will be appreciated by fans of such. Anyone who finds the extra material offensive isn't going to appreciate this movie in any version.

The killing of the blonde in the blue dress with the broke down yellow convertible is a bit longer.

I think the footage of the killing of the girl with the flat tire on her bike is a bit more.

The attack on the hitchhiker played by Nancy Allen is shown more. In the main version, you just see him lunge at her in the car. In the VHS cut, there is some flashback footage of Carl waking up and you see her nude on her knees with her hands tied behind her back, and Carl standing over her menacingly. You can't really see her face, so while it probably is her, you can't really tell.

The featured review at IMDB refers to a 93 minute cut on a rare VHS having a rape scene of Nancy Allen's character. I don't know if that actually exists, it's not in the 89 minute VHS cut here.

Later when Tanya Roberts showers before coming downstairs and being attacked by Carl, there is a brief glimpse of her in the shower, but behind frosted glass, so everything is obscured.

And from the "contrived shenanigans to prevent Tanya Roberts nudity" department, its odd how she undresses down to her bra, panties and shoes to go start the bath, then you have a shot of her back from behind where she removes her bra, then a shot of the bottom of her legs with the panties coming off (and the shoes already off on the floor), and then after getting naked, her character puts on a robe to walk 10 feet to the shower. Not really believable for someone home alone. But for some reason the shoes are back on, so you get another shot of just the back of her lower legs as the shoes come off again for her to get in the shower. I think that scene a few seconds earlier may be a insert with a double. It looks like a different room. Or it could be they shot the scene a few ways, and didn't notice the continuity error of showing her removing her shoes twice.

Something I'd like to know - who plays the blonde in the blue dress with the broken down convertible that you see here? There doesn't seem to be any character in either the credits at IMDB or that you see roll at the end of the film that refers to that character. Which is odd, as she has an actual speaking part. And from the perspective of one who likes exploitation movies, her sequence is easily the best.

The final difference I noticed that helps account for the longer run time is about a minute and a half inserted at the end of people who knew Carl what they thought of him. Not really interesting footage.

The guy playing the killer Carl (Ron Max) did a good job, he is truly creepy and menacing in many scenes.

^ Wasn't that a former Severin title? The Dark Forces are on patrol.
