Finally did my first Normal Crota run last night.

To the dismay of the other 5 players who knew it was my first time, Gjallahorn dropped for me!

I did get Suros Regime from Nightfall. Although I prefer hand cannon and scout over auto-rifle, I've had zero luck with getting a decent legendary or better auto-rifle drop in the 3 months I've been playing so I'm happy about that.

Bungie dropped a large patch prior to the upcoming 1.1.2 due soon (per Reddit):

General

• Several friendly NPCs have been adjusted in the name of balance.
  • Xur has been nerfed to Agent of the Eight.
  • Rahool will now receive more Guardian Tears per legendary engram rolling ascendant materials.
  • Arach Jalaal now stretches his 'r's 250% longer.
  • The Exo Stranger has been given enough time to explain why she doesn't have time to explain.
• Your Ghost will now narrate random Grimoire cards to your character while idle, in an effort to increase player immersion.
• To create a social "storyteller" aspect, you will be able to hear nearby guardians' "ghost stories."
• After receiving numerous complaints about Mr. Dinklage's phoned-in voice acting, Bungie has removed his performance from the game. Until he is replaced in Destiny 2, all of your Ghost's dialogue will be replaced by Omnigul sound files.

Events

• Queen's Wrath returns! The event will occur once every other month, alternating with Iron Banner. Queen's Wrath 2.0 brings some significant changes from the first time around.
  • Gear can now be purchased from the QW vendor at reputation thresholds, in addition to awarded at random.
  • The focus of QW has shifted from repeating missions to PvP combat
  • Queen's Wrath has been renamed Iron Banner.

Classes

• Hunter
  • Fixed an issue where the hunter jump was sometimes actually decent.
  • (Bladedancer) Blink now automatically equips your shotgun in the Crucible, because you were going to pull it out anyway.
• Titan
  • Most Titan players have been relying heavily on punching attacks to clear some content. This is not how we at Bungie envisioned the game being played. As such, Titan melee has been removed from game pending developer review.
• Warlock
  • Warlock melee reach has been extended, and can now pierce walls.
  • (Sunsinger) Dying within 5 sec of using the Fireborn variant of Radiance will deduct 500 points from your team's score in Crucible because come on, they were clearly still aiming at you and ready to drop you again.

Strikes and Raids

• Bungie has heard your requests! Matchmaking has been added to raids.
• The Nightfall modifier will now also kick a fireteam to orbit if any player's mic picks up one of the following key phrases:
  • "What up Youtube? It's ya boy..."
  • "Remember to like, comment, and subscribe."
• The Kinetic Burn modifier is now active on all strikes and raids. Bring out those Exotic Primaries!
• Kinetic damage has been nerfed 67% in PvE group content to compensate.
• Bungie has heard your requests! Matchmaking has been removed from raids.

Weapons

• General
  • Fixed an issue where auto rifles were still viable in some situations.
  • In order to combat the popularity of shotguns and fusion rifles in the Crucible, snipers will now automatically noscope the nearest target after performing a 360 degree spin jump.
• Necrochasm's impact has been reduced to -5. Firing this weapon will now heal your opponents.
• No Land Beyond has been redesigned.
  • Base damage and precision bonuses are now in line with other snipers.
  • NLB can no longer be equipped as a primary, and has had its exotic status removed.
  • It's just an LDR now, you guys.
• The Last Word has been given an additional perk to skip cutscenes while equipped.
• Gjallerhorn has been buffed with 5 additional consonants.
• Gjalljerghjorjnn's drop rate has been increased for everyone but you.

Thanks for walking me through last night, really made it go smoother knowing what to do ahead of time. And for the record I completely trusted you when you said it's really not that bad, particularly on normal. It's just that I never made it a priority and always did non-raid weeklys/dailys/strikes/mission-patrol-specific-bounties first that by the time anyone asked me to join a raid I was usually burnt out for the day. I'll have to shift my priorities on Tuesdays and focus on nightfall/raid and then... aaaaannd theeeen... if time permits grind out the other stuff.

Yeah I caught it at the start, "Xur has been nerfed to Agent of the Eight." I laughed at that the moment I read it and realized this has to be April Fools.

Mainly it was because I missed almost 2 weeks of Nightfall. I'm not going to put it off anymore and try to get them done Tuesday. So I'll add Crota as well. Anything else is secondary for Tuesday.

Now to go upgrade that Suros.

I dislike Tuesday being the reset day. Would much prefer Thursday instead. I try to make an effort to not play games too late during the early parts of the week. But Tuesday/Wednesday I do Nightfalls and when I am looking for raids later on, most people already have them done, even on multiple characters. Had no Crota completions last week even though I still want the Blackhammer. Being that Nightfalls have been giving me crap I should just skip them and try to do a raid instead. But getting harder to find groups.
