How about this for packaging though. There was me thinking it was gonna be some cheap crappy cardboard set and this looks like a decent quality plastic set

Any chance these will get induvial releases eventually? I'm interested in the new extras but I only really want the first film

Will that ghost trap packaging be plastic or heavy card?

Probably not very likely, especially if they have a surplus of copies of the older, still in print 4K UHDs for 1 and 2 lying around.

I bought my copy from DDD with the 10% off code, entirely because of 1 and 2. The 2016 movie I wasn't crazy about and Afterlife I liked even less on balance. The new extras for 1 especially sound very appealing, though I thought I read they had found better elements for the Stantz/Winston hotel bit since it was contained on the last 4k UHD special features disc. I'd imagine that will be upgraded here.

That looks like a CG mock-up to me, my money’s still on cardboard

Because pre-orders on amazons are mostly locked out to foreigners until release date in this post-Covid world.

I’m hoping for a really sturdy outer box as my history with box sets through the post is pretty dire!

Yeah..I'm really curious about how sturdy or flimsy this box set will be. Impressive set of bonus features which makes it a justifiable purchase for me not to mention the fact that I do not own the previous 4Ks.

Coming from DD they should ship it in a proper box, but in a way I hope the set isn’t plastic because that’s more brittle than card and is more likely to end up with bits smashed.

I went with WOWHD in the end as it ended up being £5 cheaper than DD. I think it’s the same company anyway?

Are you sure about it being £5 cheaper? The price is indeed £69 at the moment…but that doesn’t include 20% tax so you’ll be charged another £14-ish on top.

But yes, same company as DD.

Going by some brief googling it was up for pre-order already indeed (not only today when I've seen it with my own eyes and coulld've placed an order I mean), but they added the pic only a couple of days ago and it's sold out already now indeed. (and might come back)

I'll stick with my Afterlife pre-order for now. Not only because, eventually, we might also just see an upgraded version of this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ghostbuster.../dp/B085RTL65Y

By the time I got to PayPal at checkout on DD the price was about £5 more than what appeared in the cart with the discount code. I always check both sites and tend to find DD cheaper if I’m ordering more than one Blu-ray due to the shipping shared out.I got a 10% code from WOW and it was about £5 difference than DD.

That makes sense. Sony will probably make more money buy making those who want to upgrade buy the box set as well.

Just noticed that the listing of the Ultimate is gone with all DirectToUs now, but I still have it in my account basket and could still place an order. Decisions...

Wondering why they removed it.

Deep Discount has replaced the listing with something else so I guess it's gone!

Thanks for the response, man. I already ordered but was curious if I’d get items as they became available or all at once when the last item releases. I’d rather not wait for a bulk delivery. I didn’t see anything about extra charges and m shipping was free unless I’m just seeing the discount code cancel it out.
