24p playback is automatic when Pure Cinema is in Advanced or Standard. If set to Off or Smooth, a 24p signal will be converted to 60hz.

When it is in ISF mode, most of the settings are locked. If you change to Pure (or any of the other AV selections), you would be able to change it but only for those and not the ISF modes.

Scweb just answered that question above. Most menu settings are locked in ISF. Setting pure cinema to advance or standard (both of which engage 72hz for blu-ray) in another picture mode would have no effect on ISF mode. It would depend on whether ISF was set to Standard or Advance at the time of calibration. What is pure cinema set to in ISF mode on your set? If it's standard or advance you have 72hz for blu-ray.

Does anyone know how often you should have your set calibrated(every year, every 2 years, ect.)? I had my 600M calibrated a year this Oct and I was wondering if it's a yearly thing like getting your furnace serviced regularly Thanks

Looks like a member over at AVS basically changed his 6020 to a 151. He swapped one of the boards and it now works just like the 151. Theroretically, this could work for the 5020/111 too.

Hi scweb, I was looking at the black level link you have in your sig and I was wondering, Does the lower the fl # mean the deeper the blacks are or is it the opposite? Or does it mean something totaly different? Thanks

Basically, the more decimal places & the lower the number, the closer to absolute black. You'll notice that the 9G Pioneers are .001fl and the "better" 101/500m are .0005fl. That's something to be proud of.

I love Pioneer Plasmas & I'm glad I've been able to pick up 3 in the past month. I wish I would of been buying them all along, but the 9G is perfect place to start I guess. There the BEST! I hope Pioneer will be able to get back in the game some day.
I have been searching for a second unit for the bedroom any suggestions? I have tried Best Buy and all the local places I know of here in Atlanta and also New Orleans.

Not sure what model your looking for. If you have space for a surround sound system for the bedroom you can still find a few PRO-101FD’s online, PRO-141FD’s are getting very hard to locate. If you are looking for a PRO-101FD then the following link is an online dealer that has one for $3,289. Some EBay dealers have them for under $3,000. Warning most of the time these companies online are not able to offer the 2 year parts and labor warranty since they are not an authorized Pioneer Elite dealer.

Would prefer another 151 or a unit with the tuner built in BUT I will take what I can get at this point. To be honest I am afraid of spending that kind of money online

A Credit card can offer some protection with online purchases. A charge can be disputed within 60 days with most credit card companies as a last resort. The 2008 model PRO-151FD has an original list price of $6,500. A new one on EBAY can currently be purchased for $10,500. Used and sometimes new PRO-151FD’s are between $10,000-$12,000 on Amazon. Until someone develops a plasma or LCD display that has as good as picture or better then the Pioneer and is as reliable the prices will remain around double the price of the list price since supplies are limited.

Hi 1080P, I wanted to ask you the correct way to power on my 600M,Pioneer SC-27, and Oppo BDP83? I notice that my blacks arent as black sometimes when I watch a BD. I remember a while back that you had mentioned a sequence on how you power up each device. I was wondering maybe if I had to get my 600M recalibrated so I asked a few posts back how often are you supposed to get it done. Thanks
