Most everywhere the price on the shelf or on the packaging the first week isn't what it is on sale for. Thought most already knew this.

To help the economy, I would like some to pay what it says on the shelf or package.

That is what they would have you believe due to their marketing. And I have heard that WM recently said they will be raising prices on some items due to high fuel cost

Even $24.99 is too much, especially since it can be had in the US for $14.99. I buy few, if any, Disney titles because of their pricing and it looks like I'll not be changing anytime soon.

Yes, and don't use the coupons.

+1. I've actually read an online newsletter intended for Walmart vendors in Northwest Arkansas which says Walmart is pushing their PM guarantee mainly to maintain their "low price" image, when in fact they're no longer really trying to undercut the competition. (Edit: That's good for vendors as they're now under less pressure from Walmart to lower their own prices, but it's NOT good for the consumer.)

Took that coupon I'd found to a different Best Buy today. The guy didn't even scan it. He just punched in the discount. He was a young guy like me; early 20's. Rang 'Incredibles' up for $16.81.

Then he asked me where I find manufacturer coupons. I directed him to come here and join the forums. Said everybody helps each other find the best deal. He wrote it down and pledged to become a member

This is such a great film. The blu-ray is top notch. I'm going to watch this again sometime this weekend.

You can make it sweeter if you combine incredibles with cars at TRU. They have a buy one get 40% sale(last day today). With DMR coupons 10 + 8(cars), your total OTD price is around 18 bucks for both movies.

This is definately the best blu-ray on the technical side. The video is perfect, but something really has to be said about the audio. This will now be the disc to show off the audio, as the mix is unbelievable how good it is. All of the Pixar movies are great when it come to audio, but this would be the movie to show it all off with the explosions, dialogue, music, and ambient sound. I am not much for extras, but they are great here too. Don't miss the commentary for Mr. Incredible and Pals.

Correct, which is why I had to make a special trip to Best Buy just to buy this BD as opposed to just ordering it from Amazon.

I'm building my speaker risers today. I'll be watching this probably tomorrow.

It has been sitting on top of my subwoofer for almost a week now and I really want to watch it, but I have nowhere to sit! Still waiting for my home theater recliner to arrive.

I didn't like Cars. Well I take that back. I enjoyed Paul Newman, Tony Shalhoub doing an exaggerated Italian accent, and DEFINITELY George Carlin as a stoned hippie VW van but that's it. The biggest thing for me was that the world was creepy. I mean other Pixar movies have animals that come to life, toys that come to life, and robots with personality but that's under the surface of a reality. That this is in OUR WORLD. Humans made toys that magically have personality etc... Cars isn't 'Humans made Cars that secretly talk'. No no, the whole world is built and run by machines. And it doesn't even make sense. Male cars, female cars, even the animals are machines (Tractor tipping) etc... It was very off putting to me. I know I'm reading too much into it, I'm sorry.

Agreed!

Can't say enough about the audio! I was very surprised and pleased!

A fantasy movie isn't supposed to completely make sense. A parallel world of monsters who use laughs/screams as a source of energy doesn't make sense. Talking toys don't make sense. A family with super powers doesn't make sense. I could go on and on. I understand what you're saying how those movies involve humans, I just don't see why a movie with a world that doesn't involve humans is "creepy".

I agree. I could buy talking bugs and no humans, but talking cars in a setting where there are no humans, at all, just seemed way beyond me and the most kiddified Pixar film - as an adult it just didn't engage me.

not to derail The Incredibles thread, but i was always puzzled by the choice to have Larry the Cable Guy do voice work for Cars. i mean, yeah, other big names have put their voices in characters for Pixar, but Larry the Cable Guy? come on. that's a cheap move and seems like something Dreamworks would do. not Pixar.

anyways, back to The Incredibles - fantastic audio! can't wait to watch / listen to it again soon!
