Thanks for the heads up. This may be my price point. Even though I bought the steelbook, I wouldnt mind buying the set at this price and just selling the copy of the movie itself for like 20. 20 on the figures is a lot better than 40 on them.

Great price, but way too late for me. I was going to get that if it was cheaper, but went with the 2D release when the difference was over $30. This is what it should have been on Friday.

They just made a mistake.

I think the thicker case looks weird next to my other Spider-Man movies. It may be the thickest case in my collection....

Picked this up at Walmart last night, but the careless cashier through it in a bag with some groceries I was buying and it bent the corners of the slipcover. So I went back today and exchanged it for a new one.

Sometimes I worry about my OCD , but damn it - if I'm spending my $20 and taking time to handpick a perfect slipcover, I'm not putting up with that kind of crap.

Can't wait to watch the film again. For me, this was much better than the Raimi Spider-man, which always felt off kilter to me, from the casting to the tone of the story. This film felt much more like the Spider-man I grew up loving.

'The Amazing Spider-Man' was a blind buy for me. We showed it in the Booth Bijou Garage Theater last night. We had 20 guests and EVERYONE enjoyed it!!

I like both film versions of Spider-Man. But if I was forced to pick only one for the proverbial desert island, it would most definitely be 'The Amazing Spider-Man'.

I'm pissed a little at Best Buy:

Went in Friday to pick up the steelbook. Already out. Didn't have any in Saturday either. I didn't want to go to another Best Buy (30-45 min trip), but I was going to go tomorrow. But I checked the website and the price has gone up to $35 already, which just isn't worth it. So it was on sale for only 3 F-ING days?! That really pisses me off, although I guess I should be pissed at the stupid studio for a weird Friday release date. I just hope there's a sale on it at some point soon (I don't expect BF, I'm guessing any sales that day will just be for the main Amazing Spiderman sets).

I'm sure it'll be back out one day. I saw their Underworld Awakening Steelbook out for $24.99 a few weeks ago.

That's an encouraging read. I just picked this up as a blind buy myself the other night, and have yet to screen it.

Ha nice. If I were forced to pick one Spider-Man movie for a desert island, I'd hide the disc for this one underneath my Spider-Man 2 Blu-ray disc.

Saw this last night, and I enjoyed it very much, far more than I thought I would because of the film's trailers. I thought Leary was sensational in it, as well as Martin Sheen and even Sally Field. The Stan Lee cameo was inspired. Garfield nailed how a put-upon teen can become quite the jerk when given a bit of power. He becomes quite the taunting bully, and the best thing about the film is - for once - we actually get a character arc beyond the death of Uncle Ben. There's more to it, and Peter continues to grow as a character throughout the film. I love Emma Stone, and if her movie career ever starts to cool down, I really think she should consider joining SNL, because she kills every time she appears (Netflix her episodes).

Not crazy about a certain protracted sequence near the end, though, involving some construction cranes...little too cornball and convenient for my taste. That's the tricky thing with going for realism - you gotta haul that line all the way through. Raimi let himself off the realism hook by going for a bit of camp now and then, and relying on his innate quirkiness. Amazing Spider-Man goes for a more realistic take, but stumbles a bit in the climax -- like Gordon somehow driving the Tumbler at the end of Batman Begins. It doesn't sink the film, it just takes you out of the moment and lessens it.

watched this earlier, actually kinda dissapointed with it, I thought I'd be 'into it' a lot more. Much better than Spider-Man though and I may give it another viewing soon. Garfield is fantastic though, and tasty

I purchased this set at Target or Friday I think if the site is accurate I may purchase another from Best buy and return it at Target with my receipt from Friday...would save $20 but at the same time it just feels wrong...

You should be able to get a price adjustment at Target without rebuying anything. Just take in your receipt and show them Best Buy's price on a phone or printout.
