Parent Advocacy Group Targets G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

The group, Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood (CCFC), reportedly sent a petition to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) citing thousands of instances of violent advertisements for PG-13 movies during children's programming.

G.I. Joe is not the only movie mentioned in the petition, however. Other films that CCFC claims have been advertised to children under thirteen years old include Star Trek, Terminator Salvation, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, all of this summer's biggest blockbusters. Diane Levin of CCFC said in a statement:

Pleas go see this movie.. it was very good, i went into this with very low expectations after all the reviews.. but F the critics this movie is well worth it.. characters are all their.....

i can't wait until the sequel!!

yes, during a training scene.. and i def. heard General Hawk say Slaughter.. but i could be wrong.. also the high tech suits everybody keeps complaining about (me as well) is nothing to worry about.. their awesome.. they fit in perfectly and are only in one scene.

I'm interested to see how those work in the film.

Upon the release of the initial clip I thought they looked stupid but I think I overreacted, I'll know soon.

I've grown much more interested in this film over the last week or two, its going to be a long wait until next week to see it

I may try to move my schedule around and see this Saturday night

i would def move your schedule around, i was soo skeptical but i had to see it during the midnight showing, i was such a fan growing up, and im glad i saw it tonight... theres only one flaw that came to mind and it didnt' take away from the movie at all.. i wont ruin it for you... but wait until you see the car chase scene.. its ridic... oh and marlon waynes did very well in this movie.. i was impressed

saw the movie, and I believe it is better than Transformers 2. it made sense to me more than transformers.

Without even seeing this movie, I'm going to go ahead and throw this out there. I think this is going to be one of those movies that is going to give you exactly what you bring into it.

I think people who go into G.I. JOE LOOKING for crappy acting and overdone special effects are going to leave saying "yet...that's what I got."

I think people who give it a chance and look at it spherically and with childlike entheusiasm are going to be psyched.

I for one can't wait to be entertained by live action versions of some of my favorite toys growing up.
