Looking to get this movie on blu, i searched on amazon and there is this art slip:



IMO i think this one is more bad ass. Is this an international version or something? Is there a scan anywhere so i can print it out at Kinkos?

That's the 1080i Australian version, with the same cover as the DVD. And yes, this cover is so much cooler, thematic and intriguing. I scanned my DVD cover and trimmed and scaled it for my Blu-ray.

My copy has stopped working and I have no receipt. It tries to load and then freezes to the point that I have to unplug my player because it won't let me do anything. Hoping someone has LionsGate's contact info so I can ask them for another disc.

Yeah. Cover art is cool. But it is 1080i50 (PAL) with a run time of 99min compared to 1080p24 105min. I bought this in a 2 for $20 sale at JB HiFi in an impulse purchase on my way out. One assumes with BD you get 1080p...Did not realise it wasn't 1080p! (Noticed tiny 1080i in very small print on back cover, after finding out here on Blu-Ray.com).

I hate getting 1080i/50 titles. They are movies and therefore should be released at 24fps!

Pulp Fiction is only available in Australia at 1080i50. Purchased UK release to replace my copy in my Tarantino collection.

I own Crash as well, and it is 1080i50! Dendy appears to enjoy doing 1080i50 transfers. Two Hands is another film I'd like to buy (Dendy release), but will avoid because it is PAL as well.

Might just return Hard Candy and get my $10 back (or swap for another title). Watched Hard Candy on cable (missed first 10 minutes) and thought was good enough to have another viewing. Would prefer to watch the movie without it being sped up… That is what is so great about BD for PAL countries (apart from native HD of course).

I finally got around to screening this for my daughter last night.. I'd forgotten just how leg crossingly badass this movie was..

I have to admit that I'm a bit dismayed by some of the comments here from just a few short years ago.
Since the imdb boards closed up, this site has become my goto to read up on a movie after screening.

Almost as shocking as some early posts about the "hotness" of Page's character in this movie, are the posts actually questioning who the protagonist in the film is meant to be..

What's disturbing about it? Besides that the character was 14 that is? Ellen was 17 or 18 so when it was made. Could use a few more curves, but she has always been a cutie. I've seen way more dudely bodies that this unfortunately.

I only saw the film once, and I can't say that i need to revisit it. The one thought I remember having about it is that from the beginning, I felt that the guy must be guilty. If he's innocent, then the Ellen Page character is simply a one-dimensional nutcase.

Ellen is cute. Though it feels strange to compliment her in this film since she plays an underage character while being a grown up woman.

I preferred THE WOODSMAN to HARD CANDY, although I only saw each of them once.

As for Hard Candy, meh, it's just not a good film. Mediocre at best & I'm being generous. Traded it in right after I watched it & will never watch it again. Zero replay value. Nothing special about the near annoying performances either. For those that haven't seen it, you're not missing anything.

Dunno, I watched it many times. Great movie and great replay value. It only needs great transfer.

if this got a 4k transfer it would look amazing but i would not count on a 4k release anytime soon

One of the best movies from the 00's.
It NEEDS a 4K UHD release.
