Well, I'm still chipping paint and getting surfaces ready (wearing a protective mask due to my illness - it involves my respitory system). My wife is going through the entire house and weve got the HT, breakfast area, and hallway to do. My wife wants it all done before the end of the month. So I will say about Sept 28th.

Hey Jason,

Imagine a monitor with Confidence(say the C2) level Esotar2 tweeter with Evidence(top of the line) grade woofers. I would say it is a monitor counter part of the Sapphires. Has great resolution and big slam in the bottom end. It's probably one of the hardest hitting Dyns I've ever heard. But the Die hards say the C1s still edges it out in overall as far as resolution and tonality. But me personally, I'd take the S25s over the C1s.

Speaking of Special 25s, Dynaudio is reissuing them. They will be limited to 75pair in Bordeaux finish to commemorate Dynaudio USA's 10th annivesary. The special anniversary edition will only be available in NA.

Hello everyone! I'm not a HT guy, but I love Dynaudio and couldn't resist signing up so I could join in the fan fest. I've owned the Excite X12s and the Excite X16s. I now own the Contours S1.4s on the Dyn stands. I love these speakers. They are simply amazing. I've owned them for just about a year now and they beat all comers.

The Excites are just bloody awesome for the money as well! The X12s are jaw droppingly good for their size. And the X16s sound huge.

First welcome to this forum and in the dynaudio thread, Jaxwired you don't have to be an HT guy to be in this forum you can just enjoy music and we are happy to share with you and seriously the Dyns are serious speaker and I will audition the X12 or the X16 very shortly.

I intent to upgrade my current setup and I have Dynaudio in high regard but Totem Raimaker is part of the race . Ooops I said Totem in your thread Rhett.

hey buddy,

I've heard the X16s, and yes, they are awesome speakers. They are at the top of my list, with Totem just behind them.

its interesting that you stay in their linear lines of speakers.

You have nice equipment.

I would put Dali in my top 4-5 speakers, but tonally, I like the Totems and the Dynaudios more. I actually like the Concepts better then the Ikons. Detail and speed of the drivers on the concepts are really close in performance to the Ikons, but the Concepts are warmer sounding, and I like that better.

Defenately a top 5 for me also in that price point.

Ikon did sound quite warm with the Anthem amp you see what an amp can do altho not as much separation compare to Arcam with Totem.

Amps all sound different and you see the Ikon 5 to me just sounded right and not even more forward than the Sttaf.

This is alway hard to find the right speaker cause from amp to another you get different results I tell ya.

So I would think the Anthem is warmer than the Arcam and we know they are warm sounding amps.

Now When I go to my Totem dealer I will try the Rainmakers on an Anthem amp to compare again.

Yes indeed! We had a great time, food was great, plenty of sight seeing and people were friendly(surprisingly ).

Like I said in Oliver's thread, I almost walked away with a Leben Integrated amplifier at Coupe de Foudre audio shop, but talked me and the wife out of it. I think the wife likes it more though as she continues to harass me about getting one

dude, I think I am between the Denon 3311 and the Marantz 6005, I really want the phono input and the extra HDMI out and networking of the Denon, but I want the musical sound of the Marantz. However I don't want the issues with HDMI that Marantz had last year. To get what I want out of the Marantz brand I would have to get the 7005, but then that may be too much money...

Send me $1500 Rhett.

The Denon has some HDMI handshake issues, and I thought the Arcam AVR600 was finicky.... I'll try and download the firmware this weekend and see if that helps.

You should pick the receiver that sounds best to you since you'll be using it for HT and music.
