What are some movies that you have a hard time understanding?

I'm going to go ahead and say Primer. I've watched it 3 times and still haven't gotten it...

Eraserhead. I know it's supposed to be a nightmare, so... I mean, I get that... but... weird. Imagine that. Two weird Lynch movies - go figure.

Youth Without Youth for me is one of those movies that I look back on and ask myself how did I even finish it. I am sure there are plenty more but that one on Blu-ray is the one I recently remember...

Mulholland Drive. I gave up trying to figure it out after 1 and 1/2 times through it.

Primer I quit about 5 minutes in realizing that I was hopelessly lost. lol

like Marienbad, this goes in the "not meant to be understood" category. makes it much easier to "get it" when "getting it" means "not supposed to get it" ....if you "get that"

Everytime I thought I was starting to get it, I was soon reminded that I didn't. Couldn't finish it and won't ever try.

+1...I've only seen this ONCE...but the ending was confusing as hell to me!

Admittedly I still haven't seen it. It's on my queue and will probably be a movie in the fall for me.

A lot of people say Last Year at Marienbad. I don't think it's a film that's meant to be completely understood. I personally have an idea of what I think is going on, but nothing is certain. Love the film though.

I knew somebody would bring up that film, which is my top pick for most incomprehensible film of all time. Really self-indulgence cubed.

Second would be Heaven's Gate. Was there a plot in there that I missed?

Marienbad actually makes sense to me overall, although it's obviously just my interpretation because it's not meant to be universally understood. There are still multiple scenes I don't understand though. Love the film.
