Anyone got pics of the packaging for this? I heard it is in similar style to Arrow and wanted to see how closely 101 ripped them off

Here you go, it is very similar to the arrow releases. Even comes with a poster and booklet. Im not complaining i like getting little extras feels like you are getting that bit more for your money.

[Show spoiler]

If you're picking this up solely for the packaging, you'll probably be impressed, but beware if you're hoping the film itself will look equally pleasing. It's easily the worst-looking Blu-ray in my collection. I'm pretty lenient and generous in regards to what I'd consider a good transfer - for example, I thought RoboCop looked fine - but this looks like an upconvert of an already-lacking SD source. The audio is rubbish, too.

I'm still happy to have purchased it, though. I liked the film, although I couldn't pinpoint what exactly I liked about it; I'm fond of cult horror and I'm very forgiving of what many would perceive to be 'flaws' in them, but certain elements of I Spit were impossible to take seriously. I'm happy to have finally seen it and satisfied my curiosity. I'm fascinated by the history of the video nasties and this is one I can mentally tick off the list of titles I hope to see. It's a very nicely packaged set (clearly inspired by Arrow Video) and I enjoyed the new interview with director Meir Zarchi. It's a shame that the film is missing three minutes of footage. The cuts are implemented badly, too.

Looks like Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment is releasing I Spit on Your Grave this October in three different editions. The first film standalone, the latest Deja Vu standalone and a complete boxset featuring all 5 movies. Given the fact that it's Kaleidoscope, I highly doubt they'd be bothered if the same movies are cut again.

Thanks for the info! Curious as to how these will differ to existing UK editions, but needless to say, I highly doubt the BBFC will be passing all of them uncut.

Forget where I heard it but someone mentioned a US boutique releasing the 1978 original sometime soon. I never upgraded my old uncut US DVD.

Yeah, somebody's working on a 'trilogy' set with the '78 original, Deja Vu, and the recent Growing Up... documentary. Joe Bob Briggs recorded a commentary for Deja Vu.

At the very least, the Amazon description for the complete collection claims the original film is "Uncompromised and uncut", although the BBFC website hasn't listed a new rating, so I guess that remains to be seen with any certainty.

Still banned in my home country (ROI), had to import the old UK release, only to find out after the fact that it was butchered, so then had to pay through the nose for the OOP US release. It'd be great to see this get an uncut release closer to home.

Hmm... I remember 101 Films making a similar boast with their own edition, only to change their tune after the film was cut again and it was instead promoted as 'the most complete version released in the UK.'

Still, IF the film was to somehow sail the BBFC uncut, it'd be pretty exciting, even if I already own the uncut version (twice). This does look like it has the potential to be a nice collection:

Makes me wonder if this is actually the special edition that was in the works, and we all just assumed it was a US set?

There was only so many times they could use the reaction shot of the yokel looking around during the 1st rape scene to cover over the lack of footage.

And they went way past it!

Ugh, the use of slow-motion and looping was dreadful. Not their fault that the film was censored, of course, but they could've done a much better job editing around it.
