How much you want for that 60 kuro, I would love to replace my 50 with a 60.
I wouldnt have a clue how we'd get it to you in Texas. My buddy has the 5020 like you do(the guy who pointed me towards buying mine). Is the Elite pro-151fd the best of all the kuros? Just curious.

Anyways, a reasonable price is fine, I have no clue what its worth. (I know what I paid for it though )

You could inquire with UPS or FedEx.

I tried to take a Kuro off JJ's hands, but the prices on FedEx & UPS were ridiculous...like around $200-300.

Father has an Elite. I have a Panny 50G20. My TV actually seems to have more realistic color, but his black levels are just amazing. Can't believe a TV can get that black

I wonder how many viewing hrs it has on it and what size it is? If he put $1650 shipped, he might have a much better chance of a sale.

It's a 50" non-Elite (5020).
The only way to check the hours on the 5020/6020/111/151's is to connect it to a computer with a calibration program (Calman, ControlCal or something similar). It's a lot easier to do it on the Signature Elites and KRP's because of their Web Control feature.

Yeah, it would be risky to buy a used display from a stranger online.

Oh so the elite 151's cant do that? What's a signature elite? But if I paid someone to come calibrate my screen, their program can also tell me how many hours of use my Kuro has? I dont know what I would do with that information, but it would be cool to know it.

Thanks!

Jon

The Signature Elite Series are monitors without speakers, a tuner or a stand. They were intended for high-end custom installations and were pretty much the top of the line for Pioneer.

Quoting Pioneer themselves;
"Each Signature Series monitor is carefully selected at the factory, representing the highest-level of Pioneer® technology and craftsmanship. Every monitor is accompanied by a signed certificate further validating the Company’s commitment to providing only the best-in-class panels for this limited run series." and
"Packaged with an elegantly-boxed certificate of authenticity unique to each panel, the Signature Series monitors assure custom installers that each monitor will perform and can be calibrated with the finest increments for the most precise picture possible. The new Elite monitor line embodies Pioneer’s highest performance standards by exceeding capabilities and settings found in the highly acclaimed line of KURO televisions. Many of the precision parts used in the monitor line are carefully selected by factory engineers and undergo further hand and machine inspection, including measuring for the deepest black levels, peak brightness, white balance and heightened color accuracy that collectively are vital for extensive professional in-home calibration."

The box and certificate that came with them were a really nice touch.

Thanks scweb13!!

I actually avoided getting that when I was ordering mine from ABT. I dont remember the sales guy calling it 'signature elite' though, but once he told me the speakers and tuner werent going to be part of the TV, I said no thanks, rather have the fully configured one.

Still the right choice for me. But really cool that they had that offer. I heard they were 'slimmer' too, becuase they didnt have the tuner and audio stuff in them.

Thanks again!

Jon

I'd have to say, yes. And it's pretty sad that a product that was released in 2008 has yet to be equaled.

Yes, they are only 2.5" thick. Very nice looking IMO.

Control Cal. You cannot check the hours with CalMAN.

Yes.

It's useful if you are doing a break-in process, and need to know how many hours have accumulated, or if you want to sell your display and someone asks how many hours are on it.

The technology is available to match Kuro, it's just that noone has implemented it.

It's based on demand and cost. J6P doesn't know the difference between .004 and .001 or .0005, no is he willing to pay the cost to implement the technology.

The CE manufacturers are concentrating on 3D because 3D is more likely to entice J6P into replacing their 3 or 4 yr old display, rather than the implementation of Kuro technology.

They cater to the masses, since it makes up the bulk of their sales.
