That's a really cool find. Some day I want a huge home theatre with a few of the cardboard stands from my Favorit movies. I can dream.

Yeah, that is awesome. I'd love to have that for a movie room one day!
Was it this unopened one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/JAWS-3D-STAN...p2047675.l2557 I would have expected it to go for even more than that! |

July 22nd is the 30th anniversary of JAWS 3-D and I would like to get a group of use to do a "Live Tweet". We all press play at exactly 8pm (est) and we tweet our comments via twitter using hashtag (#jaws3d30th)

I can only assume that a 3D Blu-ray won't be far behind. I am not sure how well the release of the Dial M for Murder did on 3D Blu-Ray, but I am sure most studios are taking a wait-and-see attitude on releasing older titles in the new format. I am curious to see how The Creature from the Black Lagoon does as a stand-alone title for Universal. I have a feeling that many people bought the Universal Classic Monsters: The Essential Collection just to get their hands on the 3D version of The Creature. . ., not knowing that later it would be released as a stand-alone title. The release of House of Wax 3D bodes well for the releases of other titles (including the previously-announced Amityville 3D as a part of The Amityville Trilogy from Scream Factory. That company has really impressed me this year with the titles it is releasing, including tons of genre titles like The Town that Dreaded Sundown and The Incredible Melting Man. I hope that The Amityville Trilogy is a huge seller for it. If so, maybe we could persuade Scream Factory to release the following titles in 3D:
Andy Warhol's Frakenstein Parasite Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared Syn The Maze The Mad Magician Phantom from the Rue Morgue Gog I am assuming that if The Creature. . . does well, Universal would be motivated to release Revenge of the Creature and It Came from Outer Space, prompting some of the other studios such as Paramount to release a 3D Blu-ray of [I]Friday the 13th Part 3 3D[/ |

Jaws 3-D was shown in Sony 4K digital 3D. No scratches or artifacts. Vibrant colors. Slight film grain was noticeable, mostly during darker scenes, as was some ghosting/crosstalk. Biggest problem - had the same L/R eye alignment problems as my field-sequential DVD. Is it possible to project the Sensio DVD that came out a few years ago through a real D system?
Despite the issues it was still a lot of fun to see this on the big screen again. Just for fun they also showed 2D trailers for Spacehunter, Amityville 3D, Metalstorm, and Treasure of the Four Crowns. |
