Target

Pre-ordered the Target steelbook and the Wal-Mart exclusive with the plush. E.T. is one of my favorite movies, and I'm a Spielberg lover.

I never double dip Blu-rays, but I had to have both in this instance.

----

Side note: I wish they were going all out with Jaws the way they are with this E.T. release. The steelbook, the plush version, the Amazon version with the spaceship (that I wish I could afford--would love to have that!). I'd be happy with a Jaws steelbook and/or what they did with Jurassic Park--put out a collector's edition that comes with the Jaws blu and something like a little statue of the Orca being attacked by Bruce the shark. So far, with Jaws, the only special version I've seen is the digibook version from Best Buy. Apparently the U.K. is offering a Jaws steelbook, hope we get one in the U.S.

I have a feeling we'll get a Best Buy DigiBook.

Jaws was first announced on Amazon Canada and it's currently a DigiBook Exclusive at Best Buy, and E.T. was announced as a DigiBook for Amazon Canada, so we'll have to see about E.T. at Best Buy.

Also, I just bought the All Quiet On The Western Front DigiBook today from Bset Buy and there was a slip inside to look out for Jaws and E.T. this year o.O

Cross your fingers!

Is there an exclusive digibook version of E.T. similar to BB's version of JAWS? Thanks

Here in Canada it appears we're getting a digibook. I know for Jaws we're getting one in wide release, whereas the US is Best Buy exclusive. Wonder if they'll pull the same.

Stephen Speilburg seems to really like Digibooks. Close Encounters had a small book included, but Poltergeist and The Color Purple have digibooks, Jaws is coming in a Digibook and hopefully now ET will.

I really liked the packaging, extras and materials they did for Close Encounters with all three versions of the movie. That was a perfect release!

I did pre-order the spaceship amazon exclusive for $104 night now. I am thinking I just want the standard edition that I also have on pre-order with Amazon. But I have them both on pre-order for right now as I can always cancel one of them when it gets closer to the time.

I have the E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial (Ultimate Gift Boxed Set) Dvd that I purchased in 2002. If I see a Blu-ray gift set that is kinda like the Dvd gift set that would be something that I might really want. Here is a link to the Dvd gift set. http://www.amazon.com/E-T-Extra-Terr...strial+blu-ray

I have them both preordered too. Waiting to see if the ship fits the blu ray inside of it. Id rather it not and just be a standalone piece...

I remember seeing this when it was first offered way back when; what I don't recall is whether I ever bought it or not. A similar-type package for the Blu-ray release would have been preferable to me (over the planned Steelbook and the spaceship).

Why is Best Buy waiting so long to announce an exclusive digibook edition of ET?

Could it be because THERE ISN'T ONE?

I am getting so upset that I am about to pop a vein!
