I picked up the Best Buy version and just finished watching the movie... no problems at all. Guess I got lucky! Had to go to two different stores to find one, and at the second store, they happened to have one at the pickup window because someone grabbed one from the display not knowing their copy was already at the pickup area.

My guess why there is a problem with the best buy exclusive is because of the magnets. Magnets and discs do not go well together.

Though i am not entirely sure whether the discs are located on the top or bottom, it could also be because of a **** up at the factory where workers would assemble these packages putting the discs at the top close tot he magnets.

Also due to bulk packaging (how they stack them in the box to the distribution center or out from the factory) the magnets could affect the discs. If you stack them right side up the ones on the bottom would affect the one's at the top of it. Depending Individually on where the discs are located in the actual product.

I myself but the discs at the bottom after watching the movie to avoid the megnets as much as possible. Magnets destroy data with prejudice.

My daughter wanted the cube, so I bought it for her and it worked great! She's happy because she can watch it again in her room on her DVD player...

Does everyone who has had problems have a Panasonic player? I have a BDT320 and I know at least a few others had problems with the Panasonic and then had the disc work fine in their PS3.

Also, this issue could potentially increase the exclusivity of this version. If 1,000 exchange it for another, that's 1,000 of the 47,250 that are no longer available.

You could store your discs on top of earth's biggest magnet and nothing would happen. You must have gotten this confused with hard drives.

No problems at all for me. My Best Buy version works flawlessly.

Funny how the few members who have reported problems with the Best Buy version, all STRONGLY suggest that members immediately go out and get the Target exclusive. Kinda makes ya wonder if there's an agenda there...

I have both the BB exclusive and the Target exclusive and have not watched either yet but was just wondering if:

1.) Best Buy Corporate is aware of this issue and
2.) Will there be a fix from the LIONSGATE

I have 3 of these sets going overseas and I don't want these issues to become a problem for my friend over there. Would be nice to let them know in case they do have an issue that is fix is on the horizon.

Are you aware of this issue and if so, is/will there be a fix in the future? Any information you can assistant me with to pass along to other Blu-ray.com members would be quite helpful.

1. IF this is a big enough issue and affects more than a few, they will be after today. I'm tempted to call a couple of BBs later and see if they have had more come back.

Im sure BB is aware. It only took them a day to put on there Facebook that they were going to send out more Jaws digibooks. They pay close attention to this stuff esp on big releases. Business has been down and they want to do everything to stay ahead of the competition. I hope most dont get there money back and just exchange it. BB has really come along way esp in the Blu Ray community With there steelbooks, Metal Cases, and Exclusives. Wouldnt wanna see them lose even more business when its not even there fault.

I agree entirely. Even though I already have a copy from Target, I am going to go buy another from BB. Not only because I love BB but also because stuff like this bothers the heck outta me and I am determined to find one that works.
