It's not up to TT to enforce a limit they are just tha label, SAE is the retailer, and it really falls on them if they want to impose limits. I do agree that it would be good if they did limit it from the start and not wait until it gets to 1000 like they did for Christine, so that everyone has a better chance of obtaining a copy.

I want to see TT test this new "horror theory" (that all horror will sell out fast to rabid fans). Try putting out something like "Night of a 1000 Cats" (real dvd title, I can speak and spell) or "Tintorera" or "Mako: Jaws of Death", something that just sucks ass and is hated by even most horror fans. Put one of those titles out and if that sells out, then we'll know any horror title will! Fright Night, NOTLD 90 and Christine are all great films IMO, so is Blob 88. These selling out is expected. I doubt they'd sell 500 Night of a 1000 Cats even if I bought 2!
I think The Fury might be a good test subject. The sales have really dropped off since Saturday afternoon.

It's a decent test, but does have quite a few fans. While it's not near the top of most folks lists, it's certainly not near the bottom either. I want to see a true bottom horror title. Hell, test Invisible Maniac (I'll buy that for $30 on blu!) or Mosquito, one that some special few will love (me included), but most would consider trash.

You never know, they might put out 976-EVIL or The Fly II.

There's a Dutch release of the remake or do you really mean the ORIGINAL?

Looking for bottom-of-the-barrel Sony horror/exploitation? How about HELLHOLE (1986) or PIRANHA 2: The Spawning (1981)? THE NEW KIDS (1985) or even NIGHTWING (1979) directed by Arthur Hiller(!). Any of these would do brisk business for TT. You can never underestimate the horror community, especially 35-45 year olds (who grew up with this stuff).

Each day I have to stop myself from importing a WS dvd of Piranha 2, so I'd be all over a blu-ray. I'd probably buy all those listed as well, but truth be told I'd rather see them as cheap discs from Mill Creek than expensive LE's, even if it means they won't be as high of quality. I'm right in that target age.

Looking back, I'm shocked and plenty happy Sony released Night of the Creeps themselves, as that would've been a good candidate for TT.

The New Kids, from Sean S. Cunningham (original Friday the 13th director). I forgot about that one. I guess there's always a chance TT could put it out, if they're really, really desperate for a horror title....

This is probably the MAIN reason Sony almost completly stop releasing catalog titles. They were NOT selling. That's why TT entered the business with their non-sense 3000 limit.

IP address would only slow them down since it's possible to have multiple IP addresses and/or to change your IP address.

I think you'd be surprised for the love amongst the seriously passionate horror fans for movies like NIGHT OF A 1000 CATS, TINTORERA, or MAKO. All three are favorites of mine, and I'd watch any of those WAY more times than I'd ever watch CHRISTINE or FRIGHT NIGHT (sorry fans, I was never a fan of these two mediocre polished studio pics). Give me Hugo Stiglitz, Andres Garcia, or Richard Jaeckel and I'm a lot happier. And I'm sure if you frequent any of the longtime horror boards, you'd see many hearty discussions regarding Rene Cardona and the like, and a lot less passion for something like CHRISTINE. I understand your comment about "bad" low-budget horror films in comparison to "good" ones (aka studio films), but you picked 3 that are pretty beloved in the underground fanbase. Of course, 1,000 CATS won't sell as many copies as CHRISTINE and such, agreed, but don't dismiss these films as "sucks ass and hated my most horror fans" as that is totally incorrect.

It's actually a pretty good flick. It's been on Fearnet recently (in hd to boot, but they took it off on demand after about 2 weeks for some reason), and it has a nice 80's charm to it. Combine 80's bully and gang flicks with horror= success.

Oh you never know with Piranha 2. That WAS James Cameron's debut feature film after all...
