I checked the specifications on the back. It lists the 2D AVC @23MBPS and the 3D MVC @34MBPS. Maybe it has to do with that?

Seems like Amazon has been awful slow when it comes to shipping these days...
I pre-ordered my copy months ago, my order is still "not yet shipped"...
Does anybody have the same situation going on?

Watched dawn 3d on day one and I thought the 3d was decent. Watched Star Trek into darkness 3d last night. A comparison shows just how weak dawn is in 3d. Needless to say I still enjoyed it.

To me, the 3D in Dawn wasn't necessary. Regardless, that doesn't make it a terrible film for it's one of the years best.

The 3D for STID doesn't "pop" for me since majority of the film takes place in space so the "depth factor" feels empty to me and it's only until scenes that take place interior spaceships and land scenes does the 3D really become noticeable.

I preordered mine a couple weeks ago and it showed up on Tuesday. I haven't had any shipping issues with Amazon yet.

Is any place, that amazon.com price-matches, going to have the 3-D edition for $17.99?

[Show spoiler]
I thought that slip had a gold border around the edge for a moment, like Guardians OTG

I rented this on Amazon with low expectations but i was blown away. Bought it in 3D and cant wait to watch as the full screen 3D should be super awesome.

Could be numerous factors. It could be the transfer, it could also be softer on purpose. Hard to say.

I was a little miffed and hesitant to buy after hearing of the weaker 3D. But after purchasing I realized the 3D is helped immensely by being full screen and it doesn't hurt that it's actually a very enjoyable movie

True it's not great, but it is still preferable to the 2D version as at least it gives the CGI apes some shape and depth. I thought they looked VERY fake in the 2D version, but look much more real in 3D.

wasn't really planning on buying this, but Best Buy had a couple of the steelbooks yesterday with the $19.99 price tag on it - oh well why not?, even though the price had gone up, they still had to honor last weeks price - heehee.

Ditto. I still stand by what I said about the 3d when I gave my thoughts on it when I saw it in theaters in 3d this summer. Again, it's present and I noticed alot more medium 3d shots while watching it at home and I was even more impressed with the 3d, considering I already had a favorable view of it in the theater The movie is still powerful and brilliant and the 3d enhances the power and brilliance imo. I think the 3d takes excellent advantage of it's atmospheric woodland setting.

And in regards to the film itself, I really do hope it wins best picture and sweeps the oscars (GIVE SERKIS THE OSCAR NOW ****IT!) and sweeps the VFX and other technical categories (even though I haven't seen the final film in the Hobbit trilogy yet, I still hope that movie sweeps the oscars as well. I want to relive the glory of the Return of the King oscar wins lol. It'd be nice if both Hobbit and Apes could land a bunch of ties lmao)
