Store pickup is still not activated for the 3D lenticular version Bestbuy exclusive. It states "Coming Soon". The non-lenticular 3D version for "store pickup" has been activated a week ago.

The online price for the 3D BD with the Best Buy exclusive lenticular slipcover is showing as $27.99, but the Best Buy ad for Tuesday lists the price as $24.99.

Looks like I am gonna have to go to Best Buy on Tuesday to try to get this edition.

I loathed this the first time I saw it but watched it in 3D the other night and actually quite enjoyed it so I ordered the Spanish disc (and Torrente 4: Lethal Crisis that the 13thman recommended).

It is still nowhere near as good as the original, but it is better than both dreadful sequels.

I usually despise Rockwell but I quite liked him in this.

Just a heads up. Picked up the BB exclusive and it actually rang up 19.99 and not the 24.99 that's advertised. May be a glitch so hurry up and get it.

Now, I just hope it doesn't suck as much as most said it did!

Just figured out it was 19.99 because of the horror promo. If you buy another horror movie with it, you get the $5 off.

My Spanish set arrived today. The 3D disc appears to be coded Region B only while the 2D disc is coded Region ABC with the extended version selectable from the setup menu. As is typical of many Fox releases the disc features far more languages and subtitles than the case indicates, so I would imagine the disc will be the same for all European releases.

For all its faults, I'd rather watch it again than Poltergeist II or III, though there are elements of II that I quite like...

I saw it in 3D in theaters, so when I watch the extended cut, that'll be my first 2D viewing. I'll probably end up watching it in 3D again first though, lol.

Please post your thoughts on the 3D when you watch it. I'm on the fence with this one. Normally any 3D Blu under $25, I pick up.

I've never ordered from BB before, but I'll probably jump on this. Walmart didn't stock it, and Hastings was asking $38.

I just finished watching this and was very disappointed with the 3D, maybe it was because most of the movie was filmed in the house and didn't lend itself very well to adding a lot of depth, I don't know.
I haven't watched anything in a while and when I haven't, then the 3D aspect usually seems a lot stronger, which wasn't the case here, while I was watching I lifted my glasses a couple of times just to make sure it was in 3D, which it was.
All in all I think this was a big missed opportunity for some very strong depth and some out of screen shots, "I don't think anything was outside the screen"

From what I remember in the theater, it had some nice depth to it, and some of the scenes like the closet scene were nice...I'll make sure to give you an updated opinion when I do get it and am able to watch it.

Some pics of the Spanish release for anyone interested.

Funnily enough i had the opposite experience to DB5 with the 3D and i was really impressed with the 3D presentation throughout. I agree that some moments in the house didn't allow for great depth but i found these moments few and far between and overall i thought the 3D was consistently effective and very impressive. When they go into the spirit world it looks absolutely amazing and goes into stronger 3D but even the standard live action photography looked great. No pop outs to speak of but for me depth was always evident and volume was really pleasing. Gil Kennan has set up a lot of nice shots to take advantage of the 3D IMO. I will probably watch the extended cut Friday, i do think the theatrical cut is a little short and rushed so perhaps the extended cut improves upon this.

Yes I thought the 3D was actually pretty good and added a lot to the film.

I think it feels shorter because in the original film
[Show spoiler]they stay an extra night in the house instead of doing what any normal person would do and get the **** out of the house
and frankly I thought it worked much better in the new version as it was always very odd in the original.

I would just like to add that I was viewing on a 55" panny active set, I don't know if this would have any bearing on my viewing experience or not though.

If anyone wants my BestBuy exclusive set for $20 shipped drop me a PM

Watched last night. 3D was fine but the movie was just OK. The original was 10 times better.
