I'm with slimdude with this one. $120 is crazy.

I can't believe some of the silly things people throw money away on, I've never understood some of these uber pricy limited editions in either movies or video games. It seems like almost universally, the included trinkets are just chinese made plastic junk that might only be worth $2-5 if sold alone. I guess if one really likes a particular franchise they can splurge on the ultimate edition, but I know people that buy these things all the time in the video game side of things and just keep these editions sealed. I'm sure there are people that do the same with movies and line their shelves with the big ultimate box sets. It is truly baffling to me they would do that, when there are many alternatives to get much better movie memorabilia for cheaper prices. I've bought a couple of them and regretted later since it was basically just crap in a box - I have these editions hidden in a corner somewhere.

Of course many people would argue that collecting physical movies at all is a waste of money. Maybe it is a tad hypocritical for someone that has a relatively large collection to say this, but I do see most ultimate editions as a crossroads between corporate greed and "suckers" willing to pay max dollars. Just because you can "afford" to spend it doesn't mean you should IMHO.

I'm guessing it will be the same material as the Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy Blu-ray set (https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Juras...Blu-ray/24948/), which once dipped to $50.
looks good makes me wonder where will they put the Blu-ray.

Well, for me, I didn't get into DVD, then Blu-ray, for trinkets and plastic toys and things like the spinning dreidel that comes in that collectable Inception package. Honestly, nobody did. We all got into it for two things: PQ and AQ. Home movie collecting on physical media.

Probably in the back of the box, behind the rear inner artwork.

Probably slip the discs inside the bottom of the statue much like The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises gift set did.

People never learn that the original price on Amazon is never what it's released at. It will go down. On Amazon.ca it's $83 and that will also go down.

It should drop to at least $80 by release. In such a case, the BD 3D set alone is about $25 of the value, so the statues/bookends will be $55, which isn't that bad. If you have no need for the 3D disc you sell that for at least $10 too.

What has everyone thinking they're bookends? I don't see anything that resembles splitting apart.

They do split apart, and are officially considered bookend statues, more the latter than the former.

The statuettes do look incredible, but I'll be surprised if what people actually get looks even half as good.

that's exactly what I'm going to do.

I have the TF:AOE OP riding grimlock and the JP one facing each other like they're going to fight. these will make excellent additions to that diorama.

The Jurassic Park Collection has book-style packaging, so perhaps that's what they want you to put between them

When do you think we will get confirmation on what the statues are made out of? If it's plastic I will pass. However, if they are polystone, it is so worth it.
