Graphic Designer: Here are my proofs for the Jurassics! You sure I shouldn’t work something up for World so it fits the theme.
Boss: You think we’re made of money?
GD: These took me an hour each though... you asked for photoshop.
B: You make in an hour what we’ll sell just one of these 4Ks for. Money doesn’t grow on trees!

I personally think it’s an exciting time for home theatre enthusiasts because we’re getting the best of both worlds. Just this week we got pristine copies of Night of the Living Dead and Silence of the Lambs. More and more classic films are being issued in 4K and we now finally have home video versions that either rival or surpass the theatrical exhibition. I have never been so satisfied when I comb through my collection. I’m really surprised when I read complaints about upgrading gear. It’s technology, it evolves, it gets better. As new technology comes out so does better releases. This has been happening since the 80’s and people are still confused by this? If you want the best possible in home movie experience you will have to upgrade your gear. It’s always been this way and it ain’t gonna change now.

I’m sorry but I’m so tired of reading complaints about the lack of remastered Blu-rays in the 4K threads. It’s played.
It's still a damn shame we are stuck with a dated HD master forever if they don't update the Blu-rays. I mean - come on. JP 1 looks terrible.

All I wanted was a cover with the black background and the logo. Just like the original poster and the original VHS cover. Is that so much to ask for? It’s that iconic.

I agree. I don't like those UHD covers at all. Using the original posters for the coverart of all four movies would have been better.

Meh, I'll take 'em because I want what's inside, not what's on the goddamned cover. Do I appreciate a nice cover? Sure I do. Is it the very end of the world if I get one that looks like it was knocked up in about 20 minutes? Nooooooope.

Only ashamed if there were no other home video options.

I actually like the covers. Digging the red. I just hope they don’t give us another Mummy cardboard set. I’d like a an old school set like the Bourne’s with individual cases please and thanks.

Oh I'll take 'em alright! Even though I'm not a fan of the covers it is JP in UHD after all. Heck, they could have used the Teletubbies as coverart and I'd still buy them.

Sorry, but that’s bullshit.
I have a 1080p set-up with a KRP calibrated and it’s a ****ing shame that my favourite blockbuster ever (and most important picture in history of VFX since King Kong ‘33, and highest grossing movie of all time in ‘93) could be never watched alongside all the other masterpieces that i love in an age where even the most obscure movie have a negative scan derived BD.
This is beyond awful for a Major like Universal, beyond awful for a Spielberg movie, and beyond awful for such a successful franchise, and this shitty behaviour should be never support by equally awful posts like yours imo, regardless of the area of the Forum we’re in.

Sure, Geoff likes to pretend he doesn't care about covers but I think we all know who'd be first in line to buy a collector's edition 'Sexy Jeff Goldblum' steelbook (with embossed Goldblum).

I'll take one awful cover UHD and 20 sexy Jeff Goldblum editions.

Get over it and get with the times. This isn't 2006 any longer. People like you would keep us with SDR 1080p for God knows how long.

What you're mad about is tantamount to someone coming to the BD forum claiming they have a "reference" calibrated Sony 480p Trinitron CRT TV and cannot get the latest remastered DVD of some movie with the latest BD release and how sh*tty the studios are for doing this.

They used the same covers that are on the UK blurays that were in the ultimate trilogy boxset:

Universal being lazy.

Well, nothing wrong in keeping a Trinitron to play not available elsewhere SD content at their best, just like keeping a monitor like a KRP that still looks better than 90% of the panels on the market for 1080p content.
A BD respectful of this movie wouldn’t hurt your UHD release, especially if you keep the Master exclusive of the UHD edition forcing 1080p users to buy it anyway.
Glorify the fact that we’ll never have a movie like this on BD in a 1080p library of stunning releases is just stupid.

Agreed. There is a bluray thread where they can whine about not getting a new bluray or they can send the studio an email. Sick of UHD threads getting derailed with discussions about remastered 1080p blurays. That topic is a goddamn dead horse that has been beaten into a smooth purée.

Mmhmm... watch me not purchase this UHD because the Blu-ray isn't remastered. Also watch me not buy a dedicated UHD player or standalone 4K television because I don't have any content to watch it with.

Yup, looks like that worked out great!

It's based on the UHD release. If it comes with it, it should be allowable for discussion.

If you want to stay on topic, we shouldn't be talking about covers then either... it should be in the General Chat sub-forum. After all: You better not talk about anything that fits in somewhere else in here! ;)

The BD has nothing to do with the UHD BD. Most people don't like the complaining and hopefully the mods will start stepping in as they already have in this thread.

But hey, it's your loss (no pun intended) at the end of the day. Enjoy your BD.
