Agreed. TR is not even a flop at all. It opened to about the same as PR with a 60 million less of a budget. After this weekend it will already be over 2 times its budget likely. PR will struggle to get over 2 times its budget. TR is much more successful and will likely get a sequel with how well it has performed OS and a sequel of her as the Tomb Raider now promises more adventures and likely will earn more if they market it better too.

Honestly, that's better than I ever expected for Pacific Rim (would've guessed $25 million max, and if anything thought it would hit below the low 20s it was estimated for).

Was obvious for a while, but Black Panther is now the highest grossing superhero movie domestically, and Isle of Dogs I believe is the best per theater average so far this year (finally got to see it last night after shows were selling out all the time, and that ended up selling out as well in a large theater with a balcony).

It truly is the greatest show. Opened with $8.5 opening week deemed a "flop" and thus far made $400 million worldwide. LEGS!

Talking about The Greatest Showman. $170 million domestic and $400 million worldwide, So eat it, Collider, yeah!

Open Road sure can't make a hit. And they have 2 horrible ones coming out soon (Duck Duck Goose, Show Dogs) Saw both trailers yesterday.

It’s was made for Asia...specifically for China where it opened 20% above the first installement.

In fact. PR2 opened everywhere #1 and did better than expected in the domestic market. Red Sparrow; on the other hand, dropped another 50% (which I am sure you will classify as a “sturdy” hold). I’ll wait for your rebuttal .

With all the time you spend on the bo threads, I am VERY surprised at your response. The answer is pretty obvious . BTW, I am not even a big fan of the first movie, but yeah...the second installement is far from being a flop.

The week 2 drop for Tomb Raider is disheartening. Had a really good time with the film. Personally hoping for a sequel.

Might have opened up higher than the first film but WOM is poor and it'll likely finish under the first film in China.

How will it finish below the first film in China? It opened 20% above the first installement. Personally I have little interest in watching it...for sure I am not seeing it in theaters, but that has no bearing on the discussion. BTW, the audience score is identical to the first one and that is irrelevant because it’s from US audiences.

I guess you have a source for WOM from Chinese audiences? I have yet to see it .

Legs won't be as good as the first film, the user score for Chinese users is much lower than the first, plus it had a pretty rough Sunday.
