Bambi's mother is shot and dies off screen, they'll probably keep it that way. However, I wouldn't be surprised if she lived and only got injured, Bambi only thought that she died but they'd be reunited by the end.

Possibly. It was already one of the darkest aspects of any Disney movie, so I wouldn't blame them if they changed it to Bambi's mother just being injured rather than outright killed.

If Sarah Polley does indeed direct, I doubt she will want to sugarcoat anything.

Bambi’s mother’s death is essential to the story. If you’re going to remove or alter that in any way then don’t even bother.

Like Pinocchio becoming a real boy but they didn't care about that when they made the remake. They don't care to understand these stories, that's not the reason why they're doing these remakes.

No it isnt why. Im sure they'll have a problem with guns because you know, thats all the rage now.

Hopefully not. The mother deer should die though. Thats like the story and stuff.

No, it'll be Bambi's dad who gets offed, because all men are awful.

It's amazing how the anti-woke crowd only reveal how little they know about anything.

These live action remakes don't work for me unless they can animate the animals into speaking the words.

I have never heard a convincing argument that all Bucks are awful

So this 70 minute movie will need to be artificially inflated to 130 minutes at least. How are we gonna do that? My guess is that we’ll actually see people in this version. There will be a whole brood of hunters that we can follow who just can’t wait to kill every animal in sight. And there can be some ethereal 10 year old girl that makes friends with Bambi and then it will be a big shock when Bambi gets old and learns that it was her dad that shot his mom and then the now grown up woman who serves as a park ranger will teach her hunter dad to not kill things by the end, and Bambi will rescue her from the big fire at the end. Also the rival buck that Bambi fights will have to be given an extensive backstory starting from when they are young and he’ll be played by Jack Black. Bambi will be played by John Cena or something. And the Great Prince of the Forest will be replaced by the Slay Queen of the Forest and be played by Tiffany Haddish or Amy Schumer

One of the things I love about the original (I love everything) is that we don't see any men, we just hear about them. They are pretty much portrayed as Lovecraftian monsters coming to end all life.

They should make it a musical, get LMM to do all the songs, and have Awkwafina sing all of them

As a little kid, I never had any trouble with Bambi's mother's death, but the scene that REALLY stuck with me is the nervousness-into-sheer-panic of the pheasant. Still a phenomenally directed moment.

I don't think I have actually seen Bambi. I haven't seen Snow White, Cinderella, Lady And The Tramp, Dumbo, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, One Hundred And One Dalmations or The Jungle Book either. I guess I should watch them one of these days.

As long as you don't opt to watch the creatively bankrupt remakes instead, you should be fine.
