I would've really loved it if it was a Music Blu-ray with the soundtrack and The Dune Sketchbook in one disc with both LPCM 2.0 24/48 and Dolby TrueHD Atmos 24/48. And Apple Music Dolby Atmos does sound really impressive even if it is lossy Dolby Digital Plus.

Apple Music Atmos through my AppleTV 4K is TrueHD, not DD+. I've verified this several times with my Trinnov audio processor.

Why are we expecting Dune to be a hit? Anyone who has read the novels should know that if Denis Villeneuve is loyal to the book, the majority of the world's moviegoers will not get it/like it/ embrace it. Dune isn't LOTR.

Dune did for sci-fi what LOTR did for fantasy. And judging by the numbers of the film's opening weekend in 24 countries, it did 37mil instead of 20mil predicted. So... nothing rings true about your post

Yup -- if the grosses continue to hold up, this film should end up turning a tidy profit in the end (not even factoring in the HBO Max viewership-numbers, either). And it's not even out in the States yet. It's gaining incredible buzz, and lots of people are starved right now for some true, cinematic SF filmmaking by one of our great living directors on a huge screen. I'm pretty optimistic at the moment.

Throw in China where the film is already picking up some buzz before it’s October 20 release, and we’re set (fingers crossed) for Part 2.

I'm so buzzin' for this movie, I plan on seeing this at least twice in the cinema, IMAX for starters; then a cinema for the Dolby Atmos mix, which I'm eyeing Showplace ICON.

Same here -- gonna see it in IMAX at least twice, I imagine. There are two different IMAX-cinemas close to where I live, so I've got some nice options, here.

IMAX scenes are most impressive - a total immersion in Dune’s world. Can’t recommend enough. Hope they’ll have them on a disc as well.

Also, evidently that whole $37 million box-office gross occurred in just 24 hours. If I had any concerns about the viability of this picture, they have now officially gone right out the window.

Well, it's already overperforming in most countries where it has been released. I saw it on saturday here in Germany and the theater was sold out though due to covid restrictions they couldn't sell every seat.

Here in the Netherlands as well. It was sold out yesterday, on a monday...
Great film! Ending isn't as good, but only because the story wasn't complete.
I hope the decision to make part 2 will be made soon by Legendary and Warner. I honestly think that the two films combined will be one of the best epics made in the 2020s.

The Hans Zimmer Live in Prague concert is in Atmos on BD, but no albums have been released on BD to my knowledge.
