(Unless Shout now has it and that is the reason for the delay)

Really looking forward to this. One of the last quadruple-A titles that had a really dated blu ray transfer, desperate for a 4K upgrade.

I couldn't resist dunking on the beggars who want everything to get a full rebuild from the OCN no matter how much it would cost the studio.

Also I don't get the Atmos thing at all TBH. Original audio is always preferred, especially when it's already a surround track to begin with.

No movie needs anything other than the original audio, and Dolby Vision is of limited to no benefit in 80-90% of use cases. It'll be just fine without the Dolby Processing.

Yes, this is intentional. Every time I do it. In hopes that we may one day see Orgazmo in 4K with DVDA. We're starting to get great comedies in 4K.

And a huge yes to From Dusk Till Dawn. I'm hoping it looks and sounds great.

Purists have always bored me, life is short. I have the mental capacity to enjoy/appreciate the original and a new version of something.

And maybe it’s the cheapskate consumer at my core that just wants MORE when I’m being sold the same movie again(often for the third or fourth time) for $35. I don’t think it’s asking too much that said purchase takes advantage of the ridiculous system I put in my house.. while also keeping the original track for posterity if nothing else.

Original shit, I’m waiting for the holodeck format where I can fight the Predator alongside Arnold.

Funny anecdote about the crumby bluray -

I dont recall it being so bad! I'm usually right in tune with everyone nitpicking this stuff. It dawns on me that my experience with the film was kind of odd and that the last time I watched it (maybe a year ago) was really my first time truly seeing it. I'm too young to have seen anything pre-Kill Bill in theaters and I've seen every single film he's made theatrically since. I had the gas can DVD and watched it on my first flat screen which was an early 42" Samsung DLP. I was too young and nutty to understand its pace and power so I sort of shrugged it off as a masters 1st attempt. Of course young me is a moron because it's a bloody masterpiece. Fortunately I picked up the bluray very early on when Walmart gave away 10 discs with the purchase of a PS3! The point is that when I finally watched it in my home theater, with proper surround sound and projected image, from the first radio drop the film struck a chord and I was completely hooked in and overlooking anything related to video quality! It was just that good.

Very pleased to hear that another crumby bluray is being updated (even if this time I was blissfully ignorant)!

You're basically hoping for Shout to release Orgazmo (1997). Superhero comedies are really popular with the kids these days so maybe Shout can get some of that money. I guess that means there'd be a compression glitch on... man-a$$?

DP stands for Director of Photography, like Bob Richardson.

Luckily page worked for me & I have it preordered w/prime. I truly hope the pic is worth the 4K upgrade. I know Pulp Fiction was filmed with perfect film grade for a 4K transfer. Saw it in fall 2012( Cinemark did a run for Tarantino’s 10th year in industry & looked so clean and flawless. The colors popped, blacks were inky AF. Entire new experience. Idk if they did a Reservoir Dogs run too.

The objectively correct way to present any film is with the original audio. Anything beyond that is a different film, irrespective of whether or not the fill-my-speakers crowd enjoys that film more than the original film.
