Ah, that's new- nice! The seller is the same as the ebay seller, but with Amazon's A-Z guarantee, you're covered much more. I'll update the OP with that info.

Is there a WAF to be considered? I think both subs look about the same aesthetically and I know your wife and yourself are aware of aesthetics, so would you consider either sub to have a better WAF based on looks? Just trying to help buddy.....

I think your quote here summed it up for me....

but i have a feeling there is a reason the PA 120 (with less power & efficiency rating) costs more.

Something tells me the same thing.....the PA-120 weighs 13 more lbs and seems to have a bigger cabinet, so I think the quality of the build is there more so than the AA, IMO.

There's certainly nothing wrong with looking to spend a little bit more for a big return- just make sure you have the room for the eD sub. Hsu and SVS would be on my list as well were I you.

My sub took a few weeks to get to me, but it seems that people have had better luck getting them in now. I think I caught them in-between shipments back before they had everything ironed out in their supply chain. You could try contacting the seller- they're usually really good about replying quickly.

It weighs more because of the internal bracing of the cabinet- I guess the AA sub doesn't have much if any, which the PA-120 is pretty well-braced.

I don't want people to read this and think that I don't like my sub- I absolutely love it. Just like anything though I look at other people's cars, houses, TV's and think that they're nice too...

If you go with this sub, the AA, the eD or a Hsu or SVS I don't think you'll regret it as long as you choose your sub based upon the right decision factors for YOU (ie cost, size of the sub, performance, looks or whatever it may be.)

Here's my $0.02; If you do not want to wait any longer for a sub to save the money for the eD, get the PA. If you want a bit better of a sub and gut-kicking power of the most demanding sound tracks, you may want to lean towards the A2-300. If I'm not mistaking, both subwoofers are really just in-stock or out of stock items so I don't think there would be any real wait with either. I don't think you can really go wrong with either.

the A2-300 is ;only' 200 watts a dna 10" sub

the PA 120 is more powerful and a bigger sub

any reasoning to why the ED is better than the PA 120!?

Enclosure size. Goes with what I was saying earlier- the enclosure and the design of the sub plays a large part in it. Possibly the driver as well, but that's why folks are all stuffing polyfill into their subs- to make them seem bigger than they are and to lower the extension a bit.

Also, the A2-300 is actually a 12 inch woofer and the 650 watts PA specifies is peak power.

Actually the PA120 is quite a bit smaller than the A2-300, the A2-300 provides as much or probably more power than the PA sub, and the A2-300 is a 12" driver. I'm also pretty sure the eD would be a better sub than the PA120 sub musically too due to its lower tuning volume, deeper extension, relatively flat frequency curve. The A2-300 would also be a lot better for ultra deep, infrasonic bass as well for movies and other songs with deep bass.

I love the piano finish on Premier Acoustics subs, but I believe the AA subs have a slight edge as far as the WAF is concerned. They come in three colors: Black, Cherry, and Maple and they are not very large to offend your significant other. My wife thinks they are gorgeous and there is no higher seal of approval than the one from Mrs. Big Daddy.

the PA-120 is completely capable of playing subsonic freqs.... the extra cost is for those wanting that lil bit of extra,,, but is it worth it to the average consumer,,

ppl continue to mention upgraditis
here is my thought on it... if u suffer from this terrible disease then spending the extra 150bux wont cure u,,, u will still want to upgrade even after buying the more expensive sub..wondering could it be louder

if u already know what sound (movies/music) is supposed to sound like then you are ahead of the game

anyone can say the sub-A is going to sound better than sub-B ,,,not ever hearing sub-B .... and just because sub-B costs less doesnt make it inferior to sub-A

I enjoy mine and imhappy I bought them and saved money doing so.... can it play loud enough to tear the nails out off the walls,NO!
can it play low enough to create small earthquakes to my neighbors house ,NO!... can I enjoy my music and movies at reasonable volumes and be satisfied with the bass response and extension YES!,YES!,YES!
that is all I care about..producing levels that I (and my invited guest) can enjoy and be WOWed!!

The PA-120 is a 12" sub fellas. The only part that's "smaller" is the enclosure, which is what I was saying is one of the things that makes a difference. They're also BOTH 200watt RMS amplifiers. Realistically, the driver and the amp are approximately the same, but the box is much (much MUCH) larger on the eD.

*edit* Ah, I see- you were quoting me and in MY quote it talks about the eD only being 10" when it's actually 12". I didn't see that before.

I never said the PA-120 is inferior than the A2-300. I was just meaning that the A2-300 is going to be the better subwoofer that is louder overall, can go lower, and is probably more musical. You don't have to believe me but there are people who have reviewed both the A2-300 and the PA and the eD came on top by a nice bit. For the most part, people have not had the urge to upgrade to a better sub with the A2-300, unlike the PA. I'm not talking about possible scenarios here. The A2-300 is simply a better than the PA, especially for the money and I'm going by what I've seen happen in multiple forums with the two subwoofers. If I were to turn your logic around, I could say that you haven't heard the A2-300 vs. the PA (nor have I) so we both can't come to conclusions about which is the best choice. If you want the best sounding sub for the money, get the eD. If you just want to get a nice looking sub with decent performance, get the PA. I think it is safe to say that for a sub that costs almost double what the compared sub costs, it should sound a lot better. Sorry for the rant.

A better way to put it would be if the larger form factor doesn't throw you off, if going an extra +/- 7hz lower is worth the extra $120 (or $170 if the price goes up) to you, then get the eD. If the looks, the size, or the cost throw you off, then the PA-120 is for you. This is just another option for people's home theater. Since no one solution will fit everyone's needs, there is no one subwoofer that is the best.

...can't we all just get along? People get so defensive about their gear. This is actually the one piece in my HT that I've felt no upgradeitis after purchasing.
