Available at EuphoricFX.com.
Which is a rather ironic statement considering the movie itself is black & white

Good job.

Good job.
Which is why I'm sure Twilight Time chose the color (less) scheme for the cover. Except that even B&W movies have color one sheets.

BTW, typos on the image I posted are fixed on the final image I uploaded at EFX.

I know some of my favorite movies fall into that category such as "Dam Busters"

For those that print criterion covers what printer settings and dimension sizes do you use through photoshop, just struggling a bit

Default Follow That Dream

Looks like my next Twilight Time purchase will be one of Elvis' early efforts, Follow That Dream. Twilight Time's cover is not as bad as any number of others, it isn't as good as, well, you know. Decided to give that one the old college try this evening...

I think this one came out good enough to share at EuphoricFX.org.

Prepping some updates for the coming week, but wanted to leave a sneak peak at this new design first:

Design notes
  • There will be 2 versions: 1-Disc Blu-ray and a 3D+2D+Digital version.
  • I was thinking about a blue border for the 2D version, but I might go with the same gold border as it fits compliments the artwork and title treatment. Alternatively I might go with a silver border and title treatment for the 2D version.
  • As said in point 1, I will initially only design the official combos, if anyone wants a different come like BD+DVD for example they can request it after I'm finished.
  • Initially I was going to let Groot extrude onto the border as well, but it made more sense for only Rocket and Starlord to do it since they're in the front of the frame.
  • Special thanks to djakrse for providing many of the assets from the film which helped me greatly with this design.

Some notes for other designs, no picture updates yet but just to let you know how far I am.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier - Design notes
  • Fixed some design flaws with the front artwork.
  • Border around the main image has been edited to resemble the border from the official slipcover, but in a similar illustrated design to the main artwork.
  • I now have finalized specs for the back, so I'll be moving ahead with it in the coming weeks.
  • Design should be finished by the end of August, just in time for the official BD release in the US.
  • 2D version in progress.
  • Working on inserts as well. Current version is slipcover only. Still working on making the artwork fit properly with the combo pack banner on the 3D version.

Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One - Design notes
  • Fronts for both Phase 1 and 2 are basically done for the slipcover versions, some tweaks may be done.
  • Back designs aren't finalized yet. Multiple concepts on the drawing table.
  • Converting to inserts soon, along with interior artwork for the case.
  • Multiple sizes and formats in progress as requested by some members.

Other designs are all still in progress, but I often fluctuate from cover to cover depending on my ideas. Next update for Captain America and the Marvel collection in the coming week, with maybe some updates from some other previous work in progress designs.

Sounds like some great progress!

I'm closing in on finishing up my Cap 2 cover as well. Still tweaking the back design. as well as changing some of the front's layout (i.e. getting rid of critic quotes to give more room for a titlecard and cast list.)

Between Cap 2, Guardians and working on initial designs for the Phase 3 cover layout, it's starting to get interesting.

I'll be showing off some new stuff soon. Prepare your bodies!

Another one from Nissen.
Now I know a Mrs Doubtfire cover doesn't have the same excitement as new Star Wars or Marvel covers but I felt the existing one was a bit safe. It's difficult to know where to go with a family comedy like this but I wanted the fun element to come across as well as the "family" theme that runs through the film. My idea, perfectly realised by Nissen, was to have a wall of family photos that showed various images from the film. Overall I think the cover works very well and is a great alternative to what's out there.
Happy to share if anyone would like it.

Hello everyone!

I'm a newbie in this thread, but i've been lurking it for a long time now and browsed through the whole thing from the first to the last page just to look at all the awesome work every one of you is posting here. In fact, seing all the great stuff you come up with inspired me to try making my own first custom cover.

The problem is i've just started using Photoshop a week ago and i still learn as i go. Since last week i've watched a ton of tutorials about various things to get my bearings, but i still struggle with a ton of things. Therefore i wondered if it would be ok if i popped in here occasionally to ask for advice how to go about some things. If this isn't the thread to do that, then i would appreciate it if you guys could point me in the right direction.

I'm mostly happy with the front of the cover since i just tweaked some official assets, but currently i'm struggling with something as simple as making a specifications box for the backside. I looked up some tutorials on how to do tables in PS, like for example this method:
but when i try to apply my still shaky newly acquired knowledge to my specific needs, it doesn't quite turn out as i had hoped. Is there a specific "best" way to do it, or are there various methods that produce the same results without being too complicated?

As mentioned above, i understand if this isn't the right thread for questions like these, but i would appreciate if you could give me some pointers. I promise i won't bother you guys with too many questions while keeping you updated with my progress (as soon as i figure out how to do one of those previews).

i just want to say how much i enjoy seeing everyone's art in this thread. i really like seeing different people's takes on the same movies and for pretty much everything really.

there are some covers in here that are truly better than what the studios are putting out and i just want to say something positive to let everyone know that their hard work is appreciated

Figures that as soon as I finally finished my Scream Factory style EFNY cover, the actual Scream Factory would announce a release date!

Blu-Ray only version

Blu-Ray/DVD Version to retain all extra features

hi, i recently bought a few criterions that i guess were ex-library copies, so there are huge tears on the j-card art. i was wondering if anyone has scans of criterion releases they can share until i can afford true replacements from criterion themselves.
