I really don't know what happens with Jones and Barrett. Jones could certainly go pro but I think the fact that he only started 3 games would make him at best a third round pick. As impressive as he was that's still just too little tape to use a high pick. If he stays and has a good full season he could potentially be the top QB in the 2016 draft, but at the same time it's very possible he won't start next season. If he stays I could see either Jones or Barrett transferring if they aren't named the starter after spring ball. Since Barrett is only a redshirt freshmen it would make sense for him to transfer to another top-tier school and sit out the season, but as a 22-year old redshirt sophomore it would make more sense for Jones to go to an FCS school where he could play immediately. |

I live a few miles away from downtown Columbus and the Ohio Stadium area...and I'm not really a big fan of OSU at all...but I will say that I knew they'd win this game either real or rigged. The storyline of Cardale was too strong to avoid. Oregon had no heat going into the game. I also found it interesting how some of their receivers dropped easy to catch passes.
I feel like it was booked for the buckeyes to win so that way, next season, the big 10 will actually look strong with them and michigan looking fresh/renewed with harbaugh. Oh yeah, and TCU should have had a chance because they DID get screwed over...but it's all about money, name recognition and ratings and I don't think an Oregon/TCU game would've looked all that appealing to the vast majority of North America. |

If TCU and their fans have a problem with the way the rankings turned out take it out on someone besides the Buckeyes. Eventually they will expand the college football playoffs to 8 teams but even then teams 9 and 10 will complain. What is the mission of the selection committee? The committee’s task will be to select the best teams, rank the teams for inclusion in the playoff and selected other bowl games and, then assign the teams to sites. How anyone in their right mind could say that Ohio state isn't or wasn't one of the 4 best teams is beyond me. They just beat the #1 ranked and #2 ranked teams back to back. Oh, really? Because I think Urban Meyer and the National Championship trophy would disagree with you. Sour grapes, much? See you guys in the Shoe this Fall.

First off, congrats Buckeyes! I still can't believe that quarterback situation... how do you have 3 guys that good on the same team?!
![]() Anyway, MSU finished 5th in both polls (tied for 5th with Florida State in the AP). That makes these past 2 seasons the first back-to-back top 5 finishes for MSU since the 60s (1966 if I'm not mistaken) ![]() Ohio State is king for now, but it's an exciting time to be a Spartan! ![]() |

I'm not mad at Ohio State because they were clearly a top four team, but I also think TCU was absolutely a top four team. Unfortunately the committee couldn't leave undefeated Florida St. out or not put Baylor over TCU. Although I think anytime it comes down to a Baylor or TCU vs. an Alabama or Ohio State, you know who the committee will choose every time. I am mad that they finally came up with a playoff and only decided to have four teams so they could still have controversy (there are FIVE power conferences for gosh sake). They absolutely need more than four teams, this system is better than the BCS, but it's still heavily flawed. They will still never give a team like Boise State a shot. Plus I don't trust a committee that includes people with no football related experience (Condoleezza Rice) deciding which 1-loss teams are better than the other. Just make it 8 teams (I'd prefer 12 or 16 personally) so none of the 1-loss teams are left out. Teams ranked #9-10 will likely have 2 or more losses and I doubt it would cause as much controversy on which ones were left out at that point. Last edited by terp_fan99; 01-14-2015 at 05:48 AM. |

Yes I can see how TCU fan would be upset. The comittee got way to cute by ranking TCU #3 in the 2nd to last week and then bumping them down to 6 for the final rankings before the playoff. 4 teams isn't enough but with how slow the NCAA moves it could be 10 or 20 years before we get to an 8 team playoff (which I think is the perfect number). Yes the system is still flawed but it's moving in the right direction. I do think TCU would have got in if the big 12 had a championship game and they won it. So no I don't think the committee will always choose a bigger school like Ohio State over the TCUs of the world. |

the AP that put TCU at #3 yesterday, not the committee. From what I heard TCU returns most of their team next year (1 player leaving or something) and everyone expects they'll be pre-season #1. Point being if the play well, TCU shouldn't have anything to worry about next year.

Yeah, Chris Hackett deciding to go pro hurts, now they'll have to replace both of their safeties. Hopefully they can land five star Daylon Mack, that would really help out the defensive line.
