The Blu-ray upgrade of Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du commerce, 1080 Bruxelles is amazing news. A masterpiece of a film.

I was hoping that Taipei Story would get an own release. I already own Revenge on Blu-ray, I wasn't impressed with Limite, Insiang and Law of the Border, and I've been already thinking about getting the Second Run Blu-ray of Mysterious Object at Noon, which I enjoyed. Limite is a film I'm keen on rewatching though, it's not so fresh in my memory and I think I might like it more a second time.

I hate these dilemmas. But I love Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du commerce, 1080 Bruxelles.

It is, like everything else there, haven't found anything with lower bitrate, but the actual print looks like SD and very damaged even if the bitrate is higher.

Ghost World is intriguing. Beschumi's performance is absolutely fantastic.

I'm more excited about a possible Sixteen Candles though.

I'm going to wait for the new version to be announced. I did the same thing with the OOP Play Time blu-ray and still got $70 for it. Outside of forums like this it takes a little while for word to get around to the general public.

Yeah I've heard it is considered one of the greatest of Ozu (even above Good Morning), too bad it might never get a proper restoration if it indeed is the same source as from Filmstruck.

No UHD's for titles which receive 4K scans? Only titles which should receive such ridiculous price points should be the most current physical format. Criterion should heavily reduce their MSRP for all titles in print across the board.

Hopefully one day Criterion will completely restructure everything they do to mesh with all of your individual preferences.

To be frank, one can only presume it'll be between tomorrow (to capitalize on Mildred Pierce, which is already in stock ahead of Feb 21 date) and Feb 28 (to capitalize on Before trilogy, which should be in stock this time next week anyways) for the 24hr in stock flash sale.

Basically check the website and forums every business day (Mon-Fri) at noon or 1pm EST. That's when it tends to go live. That's basically what I do.
