Nicely worded, Sir. I'm on my second re-read of the books and nearly forgot that part coming up.

So .... I think Melisandre showing up means something. I guess we'll find out next year.

Do you guys really think Stannis is
[Show spoiler]Dead
? It seems they turned it around with the whole "Sword" situation. Now I believe Melisandre is going to
[Show spoiler]die
next season. It's all guessing game now.

Nothing shocking for us book readers this episode.

I thought maybe they would do more with Stannis and Winterfell vs the walk of shame, but oh well. Can't wait for Robert the Zombie - er Strong to mess some zealots up.

Next season will be entertaining, but I'd like that book out now please.

Book 6 is seriously needed at this point. Hopefully it will be released before the next season starts. I knew what was going to happen but it still upset me.

I know. George left Jon's death open in the books, but he looked pretty dead to me on the show, lol.

The showrunners and Kit Harington are making it pretty clear that, in the show at least, Jon is dead dead.

But if people are still waiting for Lady Stoneheart to show up, I assume they won't give up on Jon until the very last episode airs.

God, this feels weird. No more road map.

That is if death really is final in the next book and there's not some sort of mystical resurrection in it.

In other news, don't mess with Arya. Wow, that was a brutal way to go.

Right - either through the White Walker, red god, warging, Quarbin, or ????

Dead is not dead in this world.

Do you expect Kit to say "oh, i'm still alive in the show" within an hour of the show finishing?

Where do you see Melisandre's story line going at the wall?

Hells if I know.

I haven't had to theorize for four frakking years. Give me a day or two to process this change of circumstances, and I'll get back to you.

Have you seen a source for any of the Kit or Producer quotes about him being dead? All i have found posted were direct copy/paste.

EW: I was talking to Dan Weiss and he said Jon is really dead. But George R.R. Martin left open the possibility the character might not be dead in the books. And then that cast salary contract story came out last year and it had your name among those receiving raises for season six and an option on a seventh. So let me ask you: Is Jon really dead?

KH: This is my understanding of it. I had a sit-down with Dan and David, we did the Tony Soprano walk [letting an actor know they’re being whacked]. And they said, “Look, you’re gone, it’s done.” And as far as the salary thing goes, that angered me when that story came out. I don’t know where it came from, but it was inaccurate in many ways. It’s going to put questions into your head and into fans’ heads that things are not what they are. Quite honestly, I have never been told the future of things in this show, but this is the one time I have. They sat me down and said, “This is how it is.” If anything in the future is not like that, then I don’t know about it – it’s only in David and Dan and George’s heads. But I’ve been told I’m dead. I’m dead. I’m not coming back next season. So that’s all I can tell you, really.

yep pretty much.

It's pretty sad that to a lot of people the show is completely over with.

While I see Jon Snow as a main character I highly doubt George RR Martin would just completely off the guy like that.
