I used the search feature on the thread and couldn't find anything, does anybody know what this set is numbered to? Or have they not announced that yet?

The only difference I see in the red lights on top is the silver ring at the base of the middle one, which could be a difference in paint job. The size seems right if the picture/window on the front of the box is meant to be full size. I don't believe you can go by the scale of the loose car in the picture, as it might have been photoshopped in and not be at the right scale as the other items.

As per what Schfooge says...

I think it's safe to say that it is the exsiting Hot Wheels car.

If you look at the full, 1600 pixel wide photo, they are identical. The only difference you may note is the color of the bezel under the light.

I wouldn't use the photo to judge the size. For one thing, the photo is clearly a mock up which looks to be partially computer generated (which, again, becomes more obvious in the full size picture). Also, there is the problem of perspective...a car model in the foreground will look larger than it really is.

They haven't said, but they probably will later on, however you'll have to buy this edition or settle for DVD if you can't wait.

They issued a reprint set of these cards in the early 90s in the wake of The Burton Batman. I had this at one point. Not a big card guy but the artwork on them is really very nice.

Doesn't Mexico make the majority of Blu-ray packaging, not China?

I think so, but I was talking about the trading card replicas.

Knowing that these aren't just random, done-for-this-set art cards, and are actually reproductions of the 1968 Topps set, adds more value to the set for me personally and makes me feel better about their inclusion. Plus, the artwork is really cool.

Get real about what? You're the moron who expected an original set of cards when they're worth 70 dollars for a pack of 10 or so. Get a grip.

That's fan made. It has no bearing on the size of the run of the series. Having said that 1966 would be an obvious and cool choice and definitely would make it limited. I imagine the number of units made will be quite a bit larger than that though...

Than fan cover is treating the show waaaaaay too seriously. The official cover nails the camp of it.

I've been following the hilarity.

Before: Please please give us the series on Blu we don't care how much we don't care how many extras we don't care what it looks like just please please please release it.

After: It's too expensive! It has a useless car! It's too dark! It has too few extras! It's too many episodes per disc!

Numbered:

Hopefully they don't go the cheap way out with a small gold stick on number (like the Wizard of Oz box set).
