It's only 40% off a selection TV boxed sets. Some good prices though.

Just bought the Complete Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club set. Couldn't help myself because to modern eyes it's just such odd television. Will also get the complete Thriller as it's hard not to for £18.

£18.99 with Zavvi.

Is there much difference between this and the separate seasons?

Isn't that the one with the book and CD?

Really fancy it but can't find any unboxing videos

I just bought this as I've been waiting for it to go down. The only difference is that it loses the two extras discs from both of the other sets. That may be a complete and utter disaster to some people. This is what you don't get so you can weigh it up:

Season One Extras
- "Clapperboard" featurette (Special on Gerry Anderson; edited to remove non-Anderson footage) (38:59)
- "Guardian of Piri Remembered" featurette (1:38)
- Barry Gray’s Theme Demo (1:23)
- Alternate opening and closing titles (2:58)
- 1975 introduction to season one (with Landau and Bain), from US station KRON-TV (1:54)
- Effects plates and deleted effects scenes (silent, with music) (11:41)
- Alien Attack Trailers (x3) (3:38)
- Journey Through the Black Sun Trailer (1:53)
- Ad Bumpers (:38)

Season Two Extras
"Unexposed: Behind the Scenes of Series Two" (1976) (25:07)
"Stock Footage Archive" (Mute) (46:02)
"Cosmos: 1999" (13:21)
"Martin Landau Interview" (44:53)
Outtake (0:27)
Promos and Trailers (10:42)
"Behind the Scenes: Model Shop" (6:35)
Clean Titles (4:00)
Production Audio:
- The Taybor (26:18)
- The Rules of Luton (41:36)
- The Mark of Archanon (16:08)
- Brian the Brain (29:56)
Archive Interviews:
- Martin Landau (5:41)
- Barbara Bain (4:28)
- Gerry Anderson (4:33)
- Catherine Schell (3:17)
- Keith Wilson (4:11)
- Brian Johnson (6:42)
- Fred Freiberger (6:47)
PDF Material: Most of the scripts from series 2 and the annuals.

There may be a few things on those that collectors / completists would really want.

Worth a blind buy? And I mean a TOTAL blind buy; I haven't seen so much as a clip - the extent of my knowledge is The Simpsons and it's reputation.

My favourite shows, if that helps, are: The West Wing, Rome, Deadwood, Twin Peaks and The Sopranos.

The Prisoner
is one of the best TV shows ever made. You can only marvel at the ingenuity of the storytelling, but it does veer towards the avant-garde occasionally. It's definitely weirder than Twin Peaks Seasons 1&2, but Season 3 could give it a run for its money.

The only contemporary show that I can think of that's even remotely like it is LOST, but LOST is a lot more mainstream in content.

Yes, if only for the fact that at £45 you'll be able to sell it on for a modest profit/loss.

It's very good indeed, at it's best it's as good as sci-fi TV gets (by it's nature it's a little hard to pigeonhole but if I had to choose a genre I'd choose that) but the quality of the scripts is a little variable due to time and production constraints. The final episode tends to be the marmite episode as the shows occasional tendency towards the oblique and absurd got free reign leaving a lot of viewers puzzled. On the other hand it's one of my favourites.

I have to admit that I'm one of the apparent minority who think the show would have been better if it had only run for the proposed 7 episode run.

It's got that obtuse tone and lack of explanation that if you like it in Twin Peaks, you'll love it here. If you like the kind of TV you'll be poring over for ages after watching it...absolutely. Though all the shows you named are pretty modern, The Prisoner is of it's time but in the best possible way. If nothing else you can sell it on if you don't like it but as one of the great genre shows ever you really owe it to yourself to at least try it.

Both The Prisoner 50th and Tales of the unexpected arrived today after being sent out yesterday, excellent service.
Btw, The Prisoner set is gorgeous, well worth the money. It's also quite large as well.

Would love to order some titles at the Network directly but 40 GBP shipping for 4 items? Seriously?

They usually charge the £40 shipping when the weight of the order goes above a certain point. Try dropping an item or two and see if it changes.

If ordering from the UK they're probably free if ordered separately. It's just a weird glitch their site has always had.

I wanted to order the Thriller complete set and The Prisoner Ltd. Edition and 2 single BDs. So unfortunately it stays at 40 GBP for the shipping.

If I order everything separately it would come down to 20GBP in total.
Still pretty expensive. So I am not sure if I want to order.

But thanks for the tipps.

Then the rest of Man in the Suitcase so they can get onto something considerably more interesting to me, like the Danger Man 1 hours.

They could always do the Koroshi film as a one off before doing the series proper.
