With nothing left in Ronin's 'Coming Soon' section, and no other titles confirmed, I'm wondering what the status is with Walt's MGM deal (not to be confused with his picks from Kino MGM deals that get wider releases). Is it exhausted, or are there a few titles yet to reveal? Hoping for the latter of course.

92 in the Shade is an ITC production United Artists only distributed in the US. It's not MGM, but resides with ITV Global. Scorpion has worked with ITV and Shout (the distributor for ITV titles in the US) for some titles such as Hard Country, Killer Fish, Inside Moves, so I'm sure they got more planned maybe as Ronin exclusives.

I decided to test it on my Android phone using the Samsung browser and I had no trouble putting them in my cart. I didn't check out though, so I'm not sure if someone had a problem at that point.

1 StudioCanal 1 Universal 2 MGM We haven't seen any licences from Shout/ITV in a while, so who knows if Russian Roulette is happening. At one point Walt was thanking comments requesting the two Bronson ITV-owned titles (Borderline and Love and Bullets), so I was hopeful we'd see them, but that was some time ago now. As for Walt's MGM deal proper, he said it was 50+ titles, and we've had that many, so it could be that it is done, we'll just have to wait and see. That said, since he's acquired something like another 15 MGM titles via his relationship with Kino I can't see him being in a rush to sign another deal. Shame about 92 In the Shade. I actually lost my DVD copy when I moved a few years ago before I even got a chance to watch the film. Even if it's not OOP I don't really want to pick up another copy on DVD. If Shout controls the rights maybe they'll release it on Blu at some point

I believe so. However, I have a feeling it's just a rumor / assumption. See post #7523 through #7530:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...a#post14208448 I couldn't find any solid confirmation for Trauma searching this tread. I only took the info I posted earlier from the OP. |

Patiently waiting on an update for Goldengirl.
I just hope it hasn't hit any snags. I watched Hard Country last night. It''s clearly a budget Lew Grade cash-in on Urban Cowboy from a year earlier, yet I came away from it impressed that it felt far more authentic to the milieu than that other big, splashy Hollywood production. Performances were excellent too. Jan-Michael Vincent was usually great earlier in his career and this might have been my favorite performance from him so far. It's amazingly tragic how far he fell later on, because he was every bit as charismatic and talented as any big name from this era. So impressive. Equally so was Bassinger. In fact, she surprised me more than anything else. As befitting the modest aims but general higher quality of the material, Scorpions disc looks completely analog and natural- much better than Paramount's handling of their bigger hit last year which I thought had a pronounced electronic signature. The source material here isn't in pristine shape, showing cue marks and such, but it all contributed to an even more filmic feel to me. Good job! Last edited by Mose Harper; 04-08-2021 at 02:24 AM. |
