Yes, Sapirstein. My bad. Anyway, I've heard mixed reviews of his work. I know he did a fan edit of the original too and turned it a green tint. Doesn't look good at all. But, this file is fully loaded. I thought about getting it and putting it on a blu. You can print the art and everything.

I downloaded that fan blu-ray a while back and burned it to a BD-R.

The PQ isn't that great and a few snippets of gore inserted into the shorter re-edit are obviously sourced from an old VHS copy, but the bonus features Dr. Sapirstein obtained for it are great.

There's also a really awesome fan trailer of the first Exorcist included too.

As for the possibility of William Peter Blatty's Legion getting a true restoration courtesy of Scream Factory is something I pretty much assumed to happen after what went down with Nightbreed. I'm positive that will be Scream Factory's crown jewel release of 2016 since Army of Darkness has that role this year.

I didn't watch that cut, so I can't comment. I didn't do a detailed comparison either, but from a casual viewing on a 54-inch screen, I thought the director's cut was a significant improvement.

So what's this I hear, Morgan Creek found the original cut of Blatty's Legion? Or, is that just rumors right now? I hope they did find it and Shout gets it and goes all out, 4K transfer and tons of extras!!!

I'd be down for that, and that'd make for one helluva announcement. Hopefully it materializes.

I have a hunch the Scream Factory crew found the lost Legion footage during their raid of the Warner Bros. archive for the lost Nightbreed footage they found.

I'm pretty sure that since they were able to find the Nightbreed footage, they also decided to check and see if the Legion footage was there too just for the hell of it.

Seems like every time I turn around, I hear about another botched audio track on a disc that's been out a while. What's wrong with this one?

Whoa, I almost ordered this from Amazon, decided to check here first. What's the audio issue?

He's put out some great stuff. Somehow he got access to a 16mm workprint of Harley Cokeliss' Dream Demon, which is essentially the only decent quality copy of the film to be found anywhere.

Nearly all the audio (not just dialogue) comes out of the center channel and the lfe track is overpowered. If you go back to the laserdisc or even VHS hi-fi stereo track, there's actual separation and surround activity in the original mix -- but all of it basically goes into the center channel in the Blu-Ray/DVD English 5.1 track. It's been that way ever since Warner started distributing the title and released the DVD years back.

What's funny is if you put on one of the foreign languages, most of them ARE mixed properly, so you can get an indication of how much Warner screwed the mix up. It's a real shame because the 5.1 track is clearly botched -- it's not just a "rethink," it's downright faulty. EXORCIST III deserves better! Hopefully someone will give BOTH cuts the proper treatment

Does it have the menus, etc?
I founded it on piratebay, but there's no seeds. There's any other place where I can download it?

Sorry if I've missed it, has there ever been a reason given why the framing on Dominion is so radically different compared to the old DVD and which is more accurate to the original intent?

Storaro shot it in his obsolete Universum format of 2.00:1, which wouldn't have been projected in the US anyway. It would've bene re-framed at 1.85. The blu is 1.78, so technically it's probably closer to what screened theatrically, but a little is cropped off the sides from what Storer shot. It's no big loss, since they would've had to frame for 1.85 for theatrical anyway.

Actually, the theatrical prints were 2.00:1, window-boxed within a scope (Panavision) frame. The blu-ray is considerably cropped down from that, IMO.

Stats for complete anthology say 25gb discs and the page for The Exorcist standalone says 50gb discs. So which is it for the original Exorcist in the complete anthology? I don't care if the other films are on 25gb discs, just consider them bonuses anyway.

BD-50. It's literally the same discs as the older releases.

I just price matched it on the Best Buy 800 number. I'm doing everything I can to not support A - - - - N these days. They don't care about customers at all. Or employees.

Great price for those that have none of these movies.
