I'd rather not. The books are still a different product, and many facets of the story haven't really been adapted for the show. I don't want to clutter the show-specific thread with details from the books. And just because elements from the novels haven't been used in the the show yet doesn't mean they won't make it eventually, so there are potential spoilers there. Lastly, while I'm certainly not holding my breath, I suppose it's not impossible for TWOW to be released before the season 6 premiere.

And there are a lot of plots and characters from the books that have either diverged, been omitted or are yet to come (Iron Islands). And there's a chance Winds will come out before next season and show watchers would be lost reading it, although I expect many will try. Merging would be a bad idea.

Agreed. I think Kevan will have a bigger role in the first few episodes and then he'll be killed before the halfway point of the season.

That's a reason for a lot of changes that irks some book fans - it just wouldn't work as well and would come across very differently in an episodic TV show than it would in a book. As much as I would have liked to see it - that's why I now realize we didn't get LS. |

Awesome, can't wait... ...'til 2019. Just a couple of quick questions. I haven't read Dance with Dragons, only half of Feast for Crows. Do these two run simultaneously? Also, does Jon die at the end of either of these books. I am wondering because there's all of this crap about Melisandre waking Jon, Jon is not dead etc. etc. I would have thought this would be in the books. Last edited by darry; 07-07-2015 at 03:18 AM. |

Thanks. I just read Jon's wiki page to see what happened. It's still technically possible for Stannis and Mance to be alive given the original storyline isn't? Given this, I'm not sure if the TV show is a total departure or just a minor changing of the details, i.e. why Jon was killed. I'm starting to think reading the books and watching the show will end up with me hating either one.
