Coppola has released two colour grades of BS Dracula on BD and UHD. Both have been critiqued as not acurate.

Do you know what compression is? Blu-rays, UHDs and any streaming service all have compression. No one watches the master scan file. Trying to discredit YT compression is a lame arguement for the bad PQ on BS Dracula.

You guys can't help yourselves but to give this person attention. It's funny how one troll can derail an entire discussion for 3-4 pages by simply using the magic words "grain bad".

Says the person with their equipment in their signature. Lol

If you can’t see the grain on 65” doesn’t mean people can’t see it at 150”.

Just for reference. Good transfer from the 80's I would consider Top Gun, grainy but detailed. Never Ending Story, grainy but very detailed. Alien (79) grainy but detailed. Star Wars (77) Incredible, looks like it was shot yesterday.

Just look at this scene of BS Dracular UHD and pause it on any frame. No detail anywhere.

Do you even own BS Dracular? Show me one image from the UHD that looks better than any of my 60 UHDs.

Erm, you do know YT is 4k? You do know YT is HDR? Do you know anything?

The Thing for example is a dark 80's movie and looks awesome on UHD. So either the original BS Dracula negaive is bad or the 4k scan is bad.

Digital Scan with DNR - Less grain, less detail. Depends on the algorythm.

BS Dracula UHD - Grainy, no DNR, no detail. Bad transfer IMO.

When it comes down to it no one has provided this thread with a frame from BS Dracula which is sharp and detailed which I can be used to argue a good UHD transfer. I on the other hand can use any of the 60UHDs in my collection putting BS Dracula bottom of the pile.

Does anyone rate BS Dracula an A, B or C for PQ? I give if F.

I can't convey how sad I am at how people can't come up with one frame that makes the UHD look better that the BD. Instead they have to stoop low and make insults. It really shows how bad humanity has become.

More grain does not equal better. More grain doe not equal sharper. More grain does not equal more detail.

It's laughable how no one here is grading the picture quality from A to F instead wagging their finger at me lol. Because they know its bad.

BS Dracula is one of the worse looking UHDs even compared to the Bluray. We have screen caps, YT videos all showing the same thing while no one in this thread can show one frame of a sharp detailed image to back themselves up with. Not one.

So you know the one who laughs last, laughs loudest.

Not only that, but the entire shot looks better on UHD. So is every other scene, but you won't admit it, it wouldn't be edgy and controversial enough for famous filmmaker with 26 million views on YT.
