The Happiness of the Katakuris
L'Assassino
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
The Conformist Blu-ray
Cinema Paradiso [25th Anniversary Remastered Edition]
Branded to Kill
Brute Force
Day of Anger
Milano Calibro 9
Network
Salvatore Giuliano
Sullivan's Travels
The 'burbs
Lady Snowblood 1&2
The Tin Drum
The Long Good Friday + Mona Lisa [Limited Edition]

Then I immediately used those bonus points to knock 50% off this:

Battles Without Honour and Humanity (Arrow Video) Dual Format Blu-ray & DVD [Limited Edition]

I need to be more careful making big orders though. I realized too late that I left the individual release of Mona Lisa in the cart when I checked out. Guess that'll be up for trade/sale not too long in the future.
Send an email to Arrow via the contact us link and ask them to cancel the individual Mona Lisa release from your order, I asked them to cancel one from my sale order and they did so the next day

Appreciate the tip. I sent an email to them and asked nicely if they'd undo my screw-up before the order ships.

You get double points for all items during a sale. But if you use your points and there's a sale item in your order, your points only count half.

The best idea is therefore to only use your points on pre-orders or other items not on sale during the sale. You get double points and get the full value out of them.
Yes, you're right that it's endorsed but Arrow themselves have often described it as a 'glitch' on their Facebook page and elsewhere.

Finally got to the end of the expected delivery window for Videodrome via Amazon marketplace, purchased on the day after release day for £28. I didn't expect it to go so quickly so I snapped one up from the marketplace before the price skyrocketed. Alas, it never turned up and I have a refund.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I understand limited editions are limited for a good reason but why limit Videodrome to what appears to be so few. Did they underestimate the demand? Also, would it be a fair assumption that many people have ordered loads of copies knowing full well they could make a massive profit days later? I mean more than previous LE releases?

Yes I am a bit annoyed I missed out, even though I ordered it. I suspect foul play on the part of the marketplace seller, but who knows.

Videodrome will be re-released in a standard edition later on. It just won't include the earlier films, and book. The LE model is an attempt to meet demand without having too many made that never get sold. The limited nature of the model itself propels people to buy them faster which also leads to titles selling more than they would have had there been no limit. I do think Arrow should have upped the limit to like 5,000 for this.

Oh I knew there was a standard release coming, but I wanted this one with the earlier films in. Yes, I agree, I have nothing against the LE model, just wondered why it wasn't higher given it sold out on Arrow website before release and Amazon sold out the day of or the day after release. That's crazy quick.

yeh Society UK (3000) sold out within a few months, and has also sold out in US (3000)
so I wasn't that surprised Videodrome Sold out so quick with just 3000
they should have done at 5000, they overestimated TTCM2 to 10000 so have since been releasing much less
Arrow has attracted alot of overseas buyers, marketplace sellers, and scalpers due to previous LTD edition prices soaring
and because they now have a Great quality reputation for their recent releases, they must have gained alot more customer's

I'd be interested to know how many of the 3000 were sold to UK buyers
compared with US buyers and other overseas countries

I only got 1 copy and pre-ordered in July btw

I watched The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Miss Osbourne earlier, losing my Walerian Borowczyk virginity in the process. What a film.

Society has not sold out in the US, it is still on Amazon for $25 or so. Anyone in the UK could import that too, it's the same discs. That's the dice-roll when doing these limited editions, sometimes 3,000 is way too few and sometimes 5-10,000 is way too many. They obviously wish they printed less Texas Chain Saw Massacre 2 sets.

I think with Videodrome they underestimated import interest because of the Criterion.

But would a limited edition of just the shorts have sold at all?

was going to wait for the next sale for Milano Calibro 9, but with the AUD torpedoing, just went for it.

Christ don't remind me, my £80 sale order set me back about $180!

And I still remember when the pound got to $1.4, and Arrow titles were cheap for me to get

yeah used to be that the AUD price during sale time was $13, now closer to $20. Makes me even happier I pulled the trigger on the Indiegogo pledge last year though when the exchange rate was still decent.

Yeah that's what pees me off the most; the thought that so many copies are sat in the laps of the scalpers, but I could be wrong. The only way to remedy this would be to have them only available from Arrow store and allow 1 per customer, like Eureka did with Mizoguchi set (although it was sold by other retailers too). It might not eliminate the problem but would curtail it significantly.

Although in this case going higher than 1,000 copies would have necessitated a much bigger licensing fee for the short stories, and so that was a pretty critical factor as well.
Jog my memory, how many of the 1000 were designated to us backers, and how many ended up going to the general public via Arrow/retailers?
