While that is such a crazy rating, I can kinda understand it. This has happened to me many times when I try to watch a very old film I never seen or grew up on most likely I wont like it because of how bad it aged plus not being familiar with it wont help. So not sure that I agree with him but I can understand it. Got Em!!

You probably won't like the next movie of the week then.

Heck, it's not on Blu-Ray either, so you'll really hate it.

Ghost in a Shell - I had to watch this or I was gonna be banned from the movie community thread haha. What did yall make me watch? I have never really seen Japanese anime films so I didnt know what to expect. I watched this on netflix streaming with english dubbed. Obviously that was ok for me as I dont really do subtitles.
[Show spoiler]The nudity
caught me off guard and lucky for me no children were in the living room at the time haha.

As for the film I guess it was an ok film especially if u are into anime's like that. I liked how they used the named
[Show spoiler]"Puppet Master"
for the villain lol. I was in and out during the film still tryin to adapt. I did manage to make it through the film but again I dont think it is my cup of tea. Kusanagi was an interesting character and I mean interesting lol. Other than that I just coasted through it. I would recommend the film to anime fans only.

Film Rating - 2 1/2 stars (out of 5)

Fighting - 2nd time viewing this film and I really do enjoy this movie. I already reviewed it once also. Terrence Howard is great in it with a cool accent. I know I am about the only Channing tatum fan here but I thought he did a good job as well. I liked the fight scenes and all in all it is a fun movie to watch with very good reply value.

Film Rating - 4 stars (out of 5)

PQ - 4 1/2 stars (out of 5)

AQ - 4 1/2 stars (out of 5)

Happy Feet - Man I heard nuthin but bad things about this film. I finally got around to viewing and I can see why some people dont like the film. It wasnt a great film by any means but it wasnt a bad film either. yes it was a bit cutesy as I have heard but it also had a few cool moments as well. I especially liked the penguin crew called "the Amigos" haha. They were funny. Also the leopard seal looked ravishing on blu and had great detail.

Some parts of the story was meh, while other parts were interesting. I loved how they added the humans within the animation and thought that was a cool trick. Happy Feet was an ok film to view one time but not sure if I would care to watch again. It wasnt as terrible as I heard but nuthin to write home about either.

Film Rating - 3 stars (out of 5)

PQ - 4 1/2 stars (out of 5)

AQ - 4 1/2 stars (out of 5)

Wall-E - Ok now this was the animiated film I have been wanting to view for a while. I have heard so many polarizing things about the film. I had to know which side I was gonna be on. My friend despises this film so much and couldnt wait until I watched so we could talk about it. So after viewing the film I have to say that I really enjoyed the film. It doesnt hurt that I am a big fan of
[Show spoiler]post-apocalyptic
films in general. I loved the Wall-E character himself. Also liked the nice gesture with the
[Show spoiler]cock roach being alive as weve heard from time to time that if the world was ever destroyed that roaches would be the only living things to survive
lol.

Yes at times it was a bit slow here and there but nuthin that was to big of a concern. I really liked the relationship and chemistry between
[Show spoiler]Wall-E & Eva
. It was heartfelt. I also liked a lot of the undertone messages within the film. Especially the
[Show spoiler]weight issues in space.
I thought it was a well made film and another good Pixar film to add to their resume. My friends main issue with the film was there wasnt any
[Show spoiler]talking for the frist 40 minutes or so.
That didnt bother me one bit. Since this seems to be a polarizing film I would still recommend it to all especially Pixar fans and
[Show spoiler]post-apocalyptic
fans as well. This atleast needs to be seen once. I think it also has decent replay value.

Film Rating - 4 stars (out of 5)

PQ - 4 1/2 stars (out of 5)

AQ - 4 1/2 stars (out of 5)

See, what your friend hated, I loved. They could have done 90 minutes of Wall:E just cruising around solo making beeps and squeeks and I would have loved it.

I dont need no stinkin' humans.

Well, you can if you want, but I thought it stunk.

Can't beat the original "Manchurian Candidate."

Streep was in it?! I forgot most of it by now.

I remember it being long, and I remember thinking that the story didn't jive right.

But, I do remember thinking that the visuals on the brainwashing scenes were really trippy.

Truth be told, when I first saw the original several years ago I originally felt put-off by it, giving it a 3/5 and calling it "boring" like any other oldie. But I couldn't stop thinking about it, and now it's a 4.5/5. It's worthwhile seeing at least once.

Time to get back to work on watching rentals and blind-buys.

Next greatest rental: “Agora.”

Wasn’t expecting much, but the film turned out to be surprisingly tense, entertaining, and thought-provoking. It starts off a little slow and uneventful, but after the first twenty minutes or so the events kick off violently and hardly relent.

At its core, the entire movie revolves around the conflict between science and religion, before diving into the conflicts between the different religions themselves. It’s pretty chilling to watch a mad raving mob rampage through the city committing vehement acts of violence and destruction. And it’s a very relevant story: it could apply to modern times as it does for ancient Rome. I don’t know how historically accurate any of this movie is (I have my doubts), but as a story it is very intriguing (especially for a guy like me who enjoys history and conflicts of this nature).

Inherent to the story, it is also pretty interesting seeing the contrast between unbiased logic and blind faith, and to see how so many students have turned on their teacher.

In between the moderately-violent rioting/battle scenes, the drama maintains its focus on the above conflicts, while throwing in some mild character development and a lot of interesting tidbits of astronomy and philosophy. As such, the plot maintains steady and even pacing, even if it’s not all about the fighting.

As a film, it is pretty well-made. Photography is solid for the most part, but I feel much of it is plain. Acting is not bad; Rachel Weisz is as brilliant and lovely as ever, and the rest of the cast is pretty good. Production value shows a lot of decent props and costumes, but I felt some of the sets looked a little fake. Special effects might seem a little out-of-place, but work thematically and are brilliantly conceptualized. Music is okay.

4/5 (entertainment: 3.5/5, story: 4/5, film: 3.5/5, intellectual content: 4.5/5)

Recommendation: Rent it, see what you think. I think open-minded folks, history buffs, and folks looking for a somewhat deeper cinematic experience might enjoy this. Those looking for action or another bloody sandal epic might be somewhat dissapointed.

It's a super marathon that I do every year once the Cowboys season ends, from the #ered movies to Z, usually takes about 4 months, then I watch all my TV shows and by that time, the pre-season has rolled around.

Wahlberg plays an ex-Marine sniper who was got screwed by his superiors in Africa. Three years later (it really bugged me that it said 36 Months instead of 3 years...why? I don't know, that stuff just bugs me) he's recruited to help stop an assassination on the President. Things don't go well.

I'm glad the movie wasn't any longer than it was because I was really starting to lose interest there towards the end. I didn't care that much to begin with and by the end I didn't care at all...well besides
[Show spoiler]wanting them to be taken out since they killed his dog. You do NOT kill a man's dog

Up until
[Show spoiler]he got patched up by Kate Mara's character
was 3.5/5 (above average) material for me, but then after that a lot of it was just :

And why did the
[Show spoiler]sniper not go for the kill shot since they thought it was Wahlberg at the end on that mountain? They've been trying to kill him this entire movie, but instead you shoot him in the side, where he may or may not die instead of going for a head shot where he will definitely die? I mean, I get the "henchmen are stupid" thing that is usually used, but come on.

Wahlberg was okay at best. A couple times I had to go back and put the subtitles on because I honestly had no idea what he had just said. What's with the mumbling? Speak up so we can hear you dude.
He does
[Show spoiler]walk away from an explosion
though, so I guess he gets some cool points

Danny Glover...well I was glad
[Show spoiler]Wahlberg shot him
. Really did not like him in this movie.

An okay movie in general that almost over stayed its welcome with me. Though, it fails horribly at being an exciting action movie.

This is only the second time I've given the following rating (The Phantom Menace):

Rating - 2.75/5

I own it and like it, so of course I'd give your review a thumbs down.

As for your spoilers, I'm not really sure about the sniper one as I don't remember how the whole end played out since it's been well over a year since I've seen it.

Just chalk it up to yet another movie we don't agree on I guess.
