Thank God Will Poulter had scheduling conflicts. Now I can't imagine Pennywise being anyone else but Bill Skarsgard.

Although, I'm always going to wonder if Fukunaga's version of "It" would have been better or worse than Muschietti's version. Safe to say that Muschietti at least got the better Pennywise.

Fukunaga's version may have been.. "grittier," shall we say?, but I don't think necessarily better.

We will see next month I'm betting money Muschietti's version will be great & still have some of Fukunaga's story elements attached so he is apart of the film in some way.

I've read two drafts written by Fukunaga and Palmer. The script as revised by Gary Dauberman is definitely better. Unless you wanna see an adaptation of It in which The Losers Club is reduced to six members and Stan Uris is a goldfish.

I read the two Fukunaga scripts as well recently, and while there were some elements that were certainly creative, I thought overall they were both pretty underwhelming.

As someone who is a huge fan of the book, and has read his scripts? Worse.

Not sure how you can say that about Poulter, seems a bit unfair. Many people were expressing their (exaggerated Twitter mode) disgust at the casting of Heath Ledger for The Dark Knight, look how that turned out.

I was actually excited about Poulter when it was first announced, from what I have seen of him, I think he could have pulled it off.

Same. Poulter would have been a great pick.

Indeed. Poulter would have been great choice, I think. I wanted him to be IT, before I learned who the current actor was.

It'd be hard to see Poulter as Pennywise because the whole time I would just have Poulter's character from "We're The Millers" in my head.

His "We're the Millers" character is immediately obliterated from your consciousness if you ever get around to watching "Detroit".

He really would've been a really scary as hell Pennywise, but Bill Skarsgård looks to be a fine replacement.

Don't know how you would think of his Miller's character when he's covered in makeup and acting sinister.
