Yeah the Twilight guys aren't really werewolves, especially since they don't become huge, they just turn into human sized wolves and the moon doesn't effect them.

I only read 4 of the books but there were no werewolves in those.

Werewolves could work but I don't think it would be a lot due to CW budget constraints. I think to even the playing field though, they would have to figure out a way for the wolves to power up all the time, not just when there's a full moon.

When Vicki was still around Tyler definitely took on more of that alpha-male attitude constantly marking his territory (Vicki) every chance he got, especially when it was around Jeremy. I wanna say, not positive though that the scene I referred to was right after Tyler's dad took him and Jeremy outside and told them to fight it out and than Alaric broke it up. Jeremy asked Tyler if his dad was always such a jerk, and was trying to make amends with him and Tyler shoved him and said something rude and asked "why are you like that" as he was walking away and it cut to Tyler, looking confused like he didn't understand either and said something like "I don't know" and they made a point to show Tyler infront of the full moon. It might have been the very first episode where Alaric showed up.

With Season 3 of True Blood adding Werewolves it'll be interesting to see if Diaries goes the same route next season as well.

EDIT: Just found this breakdown of the character Tyler Smallwood from the Diaries book series. Looks like I wasn't wrong.

It was pretty easy for me to find the episode again, I knew it was Alaric's first episode so I just checked on IMDB, and was able to skip through everything

Yeah atleast they will be saving one thing for the second season lol.

Hopefully they handle the werewolves well, can't remember the last CW show besides Buffy that handled werewolves well.

What other show besides Buffy has? I can only think of one episode of Supernatural that had werewolves and they looked pretty cool.

None that I'm aware of, will be recording tonight's episode as usual to watch after work, love these almost weekly Nina Dobrev "doses". I would rate the last episode about 9.4/10.

Good episode last night. Nice to see Matt and Stephan finally playing nice cause that petty glaring crap just seemed way too girly to me. Either fight it out or end it, cause that's what guys do, we don't stare at each other cause that ain't intimidating to me lol. Also, would really like to know what the Vampires are planning, and why just about every single vampire on the show can walk around in daylight. What did they have 50 of those rings made? Which btw, the ring thing kinda annoys me, cause that's what they did on Angel, but atleast there was only one and he used it for one day. These guys just skip around town in the daylight anytime they feel like it.

I missed the episode, guess my programmed recording failed for some reason. Yeah not sure about that, in the novels that I read, only Stefan and Damon had lapis lazuli rings to protect them from the sun.

Yeah didn't know what the rings where called, but never read the books. So how long ago did that idea come about than, cause I assumed it was just used on the show, but aren't the books from like 15 years ago? Anyways right now Damon, Stefan, Pearl, Anna use their rings daily. And I wanna say there where a few others, not to mention didn't Stefan say Katherine gave them there rings? So it'd be safe to assume she has one too. And Harper was wondering the woods in the middle of the day so I believe he has one, and I'll like to know more about Alaric's ring. I would imagine they abused the lapis lazuli ring thing in an attempt to try to even the playing field between the Salvatore brothers and the other vampires.

Yeah it just seems a little ridiculous to me now. Not to mention nobody seems to wonder why this little town is suddenly populated by lots of new strange acting people, lol. You said you missed last night's episode but I was wondering if Pearl and Anna where actually in the books? Cause last night Pearl was trying to buy up the old drug store property that once belonged to her in the 1860's so I'm curious if that is a new storyline or something from the books.

I only read 4 of the books, a long time ago. I don't remember if Pearl or Anna were in them, will read all 7 of them at some point for sure.
