well i've watched them both.. and they are excellent.. the biggest difference for me is the audio.. and picture quality is brilliant but i'm tempted to agree a little with Vasili the special edition dvds are excellent quality... its not a night and day difference.. and i am a huge advocate of HD.. i'm not saying i'm dissapointed... they look perfect... just that they werent to far from pefect on the dvds

I had a look at both films this morning and the difference is as jaw-dropping as everyone expected. It is the best you have ever seen them - simple as that.

Nothing I have seen in high definition looks better than these films do. As good as all the other Pixar blu-rays you own.

I completely agree. I'm still glad I bought both Toy story movies on BD, but the SE dvd's do hold up surprisingly well against them. This is probably because being amongst Pixar's early films they used more simple textures in the CG (especially Toy Story 1) compared to their later films. The CG textures used in more recent Pixar movies are much more detailed thus Blu-ray benefits from this more by displaying the increased detail better than the dvd.

They don't seem to be on the disc. That's a real shame.

Huh. I didn't know about that. Can anyone tell me about that? Its been a rather long time since I've seen TS2.

There's a feature under the DVD extra's of Toy Story 2 that explains why it was changed, you get to see the US and international versions of the scene.

Toy Story 2 is the best PQ I have seen on Blu-Ray yet! It is absolutely stunning & an absolute Jaw Dropper! This should get a 5 and a half stars for PQ!

Did anyone else think that the toy shop scene in TS2 was overly pink? The part where they drive the car and meet the girls... was it always as pink? It seems like a pink screen is over the image, or is it just me?

they do. Toy Story 1 came today with a slipcase from PLAY.
Waiting for Toy Story 2 on Monday perhaps (they were ordered together). They were ordered when I posted my previous message so dunno if they still ship them with slipcase... I was kind of disappointed to know that my already shipped ToyStories would come without a slipcase so this was a rather pleasant surprise..

You mean of the 2 or 3 'Toy Story'-films or the whole Pixar-collection? lol
I've been wondering about both, but a Pixar-collection is kinda silly cause "they ain't done yet".
Would be nice if they'd have like volumes with "matching" films or something.
Definitely one for the 'Toy Story'-ones in one.

For myself I'm not sure cause... I'd like to see the first 2 again before seeing 3.
But then I kinda would like a set of the 3 on BD, cause there wouldn't be 4th movie for quite some time I guess.
If there would be a nice set of them eventually anyway.
And I don't have any on DVD just on VHS... -_-
Maybe I could rent them first though... hay, I has a good idea for once... :P
