Toy Story / Toy Story 2: The UK Releases - Blu-ray Forum

Only 3 weeks away... thinking about ordering them from the US or UK. Are the UK editions in any way changed from the US editions?

I know the International versions doesn't come with US flag and Star Spangled Banner theme in TS2, but how about voice changes?

I remember something about Wheezy's voice?

Hmm... I haven't heard anything about voice changes in any International versions.

Other than what you mentioned about the US flag on the TV, the releases are identical as far as I know.

The UK releases also arrive a week earlier than the US.

Cant wait to get my hands on these.. my son loves the Toy Story films and I have been holding out on buying them for him until the Blu's come out.

Like the ones invloving Barbie, I seem to remember.... They most definitely were, some of the funniest bits when I saw it in the cinema as a kid!

The one thing that is bewildering me with this is the extras.

Am i wrong in thinking that the previous DVD releases, such as the Toy Box DVD set, included LOTS of extras that are not here on these Blu releases?

Are the blus not going to be 2xBlu disc sets?

Are they holding out for the trilogy box, you think?

There is no reason why the Blu Ray won't hold all the old DVD features, Monsters Inc. did, and that was just a single disc release. Ratatouille and Cars were both pretty packed with extras and were both single disc releases.

There are supposed to be new Blu Ray exclusive features too.

Oh, and if you'd been reading the upcoming Disney releases thread, you would have seen my post that one of the voices is substituted. Ex CBBC presenter, Andy Peters did the voice of one of the baggage handlers in Toy Story 2 for the UK releases. Whether that will be on the UK Blu Ray remains to be seen.

monsters inc was a 2 disc release in the UK, I will preorder these 2 soon as I never had the dvds,

has there been any releases from disney/pixar stating the full features list?

My mistake, I was thinking Monsters, Inc had been a single disc release, but you're right, it was a 2 disc release.

It still doesn't change the fact that there should be plenty of space to fit all the extra's from the DVD's on a single disc Blu Ray.

Dunno about other people but I would rather have a 2nd disc full of extras(or all on one disc) than a digital copy or dvd copy. The digital is useless to me as it wont work on my psp or phone so jst sits on my computer in the same room as my bluray player and tv, and the dvd just sits there as we have a bluray player in each room now...

Well, I don't think the Toy Story's come with a digital copy anyway do they?

But, I don't really see much point for Digital Copies, they're just coasters to me. I have a Blu Ray laptop, so if I really want to watch movies on the go, I just watch them on the laptop.

Is the Ratatouille BR+DVD combo going for 9.99 on hmv.com the same as the American release in terms of special features? I'm deciding whether to get it.

This is the ultimate conundrom.

Do I get the UK or USA version, or wait for all three in a box together.

Still got my DVD Ultimate Toy Box, so might wait for all three together.

If you're in the UK, it makes more sense to get the UK releases as the US releases will offer nothing extra from what im aware.
Plus the UK ones are out a little sooner than the US.

As for the box set, to put it simply, im impatient, and refuse to wait nearly a year for a box set that might never happen anyway

I am in the UK, but have multi region player.

Haven't seen comparison specs for them. Worried I'll buckle when I see loads of them in the supermarket

Any of you guys know a site, where it is possible to check the audio tracks and the subtitles on the UK version, as unfortunately Amazon UK, Play.com or even Blu-ray.com are all lacking that info..

I'll be very surprised if all the extras from the US toy box dvd set is included with these BDs, but I would much rather have the films in hd and a handful of new features.
Will be keeping my dvd set anyway.
