No it is not. If they don't find a fix, it will initiate a recall larger than anything MS or Sony has seen. And that would be VERY bad for Sony.

everything works fine here...i have the 250 slim....Still tho..i think syncing the trophies and all that is dumb....they should have the trophy system up to par like the achievements from xbox...(that is where they got the idea anyways right) I know psn is free why complain...

hope when its all fixed everyone gets there stuff right.

Here's what's going on right now: something with the PS3's internal clock has borked in some pre-slim models. This is not a PSN issue; it has to do with your PS3's clock. -If that doesn't work, we'll need a firmware update from Sony, which should be a pretty important priority for them right now.

Did I lose my data/themes/etc?

Your save data/games/dlc/themes are fine. They'll be fixed when the PS3 is fixed. Trophies are uncertain right now, but they'll be fine if you've synced them before the PS3 was bugged. Unsynced trophies are an unknown right now.

well some people here have said that they are one of the lucky ones..I myself don't feel so lucky and wouldn't want to take the gamble so maybe I'll just not turn on, and unplug my PS3 til a confirmed fix is out

Well if it's fixed soon I'll get a couple hours of heavy rain in tonight, otherwise lame.

It also happened to my 20gb ps3 which I was using to watch movies at the time. I didn't even notice and it's at 3.01 right now.

I think it's a little weird that I cant even play heavy rain at all. But ya, hopefully they fix it or it fixes itself in a day. What a horrible horrible stupid bug. Someone better get fired.

LOL! wooooooo! 1999 was a great year for me. i was 23 years old, about 35 pounds lighter, had a full head of hair, and a harem of women. now i'm married, balding, and have a dead end job. my god, where did the years go?

Hmm, well that means it isn't firmware 3.15s fault if your 20GB on 3.01 did it.

Apparently, PSN has taken a sudden left turn to crapsville. It could be PSN or it could be a firmware problem. People are being kicked from playing certain games to their XMB (Heavy Rain, for example), the date and time are displaying as 12/31/1999 (Y2K10?), and some trophy data has also been disappearing. The error code in question is 8001050F. If you're concerned about losing your trophy progress, don't play a game with trophies. Go and do something else until the smoke clears from this and the problems are solved.

The only official word we have from Sony is from the PS Blog's Twitter page:

"We're aware that many of you are having problems connecting to PSN, and yes, we're looking into it. Stay tuned for updates."

We'll keep you as updated as we can here, but we're scrambling for facts right now.
