Weird PS3 and Onkyo 805 bug - Blu-ray Forum

I just downloaded a couple of demos, and they will repeatedly shut my receiver off when on, like every few seconds. only have enough time to turn the receiver back on, hit the PS button and quit the game.

Not sure what the problem is, Should I just call up Onkyo, cause it's like less than a month old receiver, and my PS3 is a replacement that's like 2 weeks old as well.

Which Demos? I have downloaded demo's in the past from PSN with no sound at all. Try deleting the Demo's and redownloading them. Does the 805 cutoff with any other demo's you have? BD's or other games? Sounds like the amp is getting clipped which is causing it to shutdown.

First happened to the Hail to the Chimp demo, which was fixed by turning off the PS3 and on again. Still does it to the Commando 3 demo.

You dont have any speaker wire touching and by chance just happens to shut off during demos?

I started those downloads last night so I have yet to try the Demo's. Maybe I should wait

??? Try deleting the demo and download again.

Sounds like HDMI handshaking to me. Try hooking the PS3 up with something other than HDMI and see what happens.

May be an error in the demo with it or you may have a handshaking issue.

OK, happens with MSG4 too now. It only happens during some games, and mostly during some screens not others. I just played through MSG4 with the same receiver and no problems. The only difference since then is I plugged in my last 2 speakers. Possible games with 7.1 activate em and cause the problem cause of wiring, or I just got a bum receiver?
