My only problem with On Stranger Tides was that Blackbeard wasn't enough of a villain and the mermaid romance was too forced and underdeveloped. In OST, it was all about Jack, and the mermaid/missionary were just little side characters, so there was nothing to make the audience connect with them.

I hope the 5th one pulls the focus away from being solely on Jack. He was much better as a supporting character. I hope they expand on the

[Show spoiler]scene with Penelope Cruz's character finding the Jack voodoo doll

, while also providing more characters for us to care about like Will/Elizabeth.

I never really cared much about Elizabeth and Will and thought they held the third film back, unfortunately taking them away did nothing to help the fourth installment.

Wow that makes my head hurt dude! I just hope the 5th one beats the 4th one, I want a return to the epic feel of the first 3 films. Do hope Penelope is back for movie 5 though!

I hope they play out Jack more like he was in The Curse of the Black Pearl, maybe a mix of his characterization in that one and On Stranger Tides, his personality was a much better mix of being badass and being funny in the first.

I agree on the naval battle though, OST focused too much on sword fights.

I think there is a pretty good chance that that's what they are going for in Pirates 5, considering the fact that the script is currently being re-written for Pirates 5. In fact, that could be part of the reason why they are re-writting Pirates 5's script, and the other reasons being the production budget that has to be at a good number and the story/plot has to be good.

This. It's pretty much stalled because of Lone Ranger. I don't think we'll hear anything on it for a little while. Especially with all the problems plaguing Lone Ranger...

I assume you ment that there is no new info on Pirates 5 at this point, right ? . Although, The only that i do know right now regarding Pirates 5's theatrical release, is that its coming out in 2014(maybe 2015), because upcoming The Lone Ranger movie took away Pirates 5's chance to be released in 2013.

I think there's a possibility we'll get a release date somewhere next year, but i don't think we'll have to expect it to be released until 2015.

I was thinking that maybe we would be hearing of a 2014 release date for Pirates 5, either once The Lone Ranger movie was completed or once its been released next July. But, i guess it would be more likely be when The Lone Ranger's been released next July.

Well, it's been a while since there was any updates or news about Pirates 5. That's why i said what i said yesterday and earlier today about Pirates 5.

I haven't heard anything about it either, except for the fact that the script is being re-written. But, we'll likely start hearing more about it, once The Lone Ranger is finished being filmed or once The Lone Ranger has been released next July, because i'm sure their going to want to get The Lone Ranger movie out of the way first before working on Pirates 5. Although, there's that other movie that Johnny Depp was supposed to be in that is called The Thin Man, but it appears now that it's being delayed for a while as of recently.
