Amazon shipped mine faster than Bezos' ex-missus shipped Bezos.

After finally getting to a real human being I got “ I have checked and would like to inform you that we don't honor the price difference.” he then insisted I return the item and re-order it at a cheaper price, surely refunding the difference would be easier and cheaper.

That is bonkers. Well as long as you get a full refund and a cheaper copy that's all that matters.

I'm tempted to bite at that price but I don't have a 4K TV to appreciate it, just the XB1X hooked up to a monitor screen...

Try again, I did it a few weeks ago after I ordered something and the day it was dispatched the price dropped. They said normal policy is to not honour price drops after an order has completed but I insisted and said I was a long time customer.

I think they added the difference as credit against my next purchase which is fine as I always buy stuff.

Ask them to send a courier around to collect the first order.

I just did that very thing and got the difference credited to my account.

Good luck, but it can be an ordeal trying to get them to honour pre-order price guarantees. They don't seem to understand what "release day" means.

In the past I've managed to get a few refunds with threats of sending the item back, that's about all you can do.

At then end of the day it might not be worth it, you could send your copy back and it could go OOS.

Bought some straighteners for my Mrs. and within a week of receiving them they were reduced by £40.... tried 3 different Amazon chats but they all insisted they could not refund the difference but I could make a trip during lockdown to the post office, send them back, reorder the same product and have someone have to process and deliver it..... so I did and now the ones I sent back seem to have gone AWOL, sent back a few weeks ago and still not received back, meanwhile 2 days after posting I received the exact same straighteners from the second order.... can’t see how any of that makes sense

Try this one for size: they accidentally sent me a £175 Disney DVD set I didn't order or pay for. Because of the size and value and one hour round trip to the post office to send it back recorded I asked them to send a courier to collect it.

They told me to keep it.

Last weekend they sent a £12 copy of Dr Terror's House of Horrors I ordered for a Christmas present but on checking it it turned out to be the botched faulty OEG disc rather than the corrected one. That they want back and will refund me after Christmas...

No, me neither.

Are you sure someone didn't gift it to you?

Yes - the delivery slip inside had a gift note with a message with the name of the person it should have gone to. And none of my friends or family would drop that kind of coin on a single present.

Hadn’t planned on buying the UHD, and was happy to wait for a regular cheaper version.
Saw it had had a bit of a price drop this morning, and realised a regular version probably wouldn’t be that much cheaper than the new price, so ordered it at around 8am.
Turned up about 12 hours later, quite a turn around.

It's weird with WHSmith cancelling because the offer is back up again, with amazon effectively matching with posting cost included....

Got an email yesterday from HMV saying that my Tremors 4K set and Game of Thornes 4K steelbook set was available to collect. The guy behind the counter give me one big box which I assumed had both in. I had a brain fart and didn't think about the fact both got dispatched separately. Opened the box just to find the Game of Thrones set. Went back today to collect the second box, only to be told it hasn't arrived yet and HMV are still waiting for them.

Much appreciated, gonna return the amazon and order from smiths with some other things.

EDIT: Ended up getting the Stanley Kubrick Archives book with it and used DECDASH for £10 off. Came to £49.49 in total.

£24.48 on Amazon.

Didn’t read the posts above. Are people buying from WH Smith’s and ordering something else to save on postage over £25?
