One of my all-time favorites...
Is the PQ that bad? I understand the chances of a re-release are pretty slim...

I heard it's a direct port from the HD-DVD. Which was pretty awful

If you're a fan of the film, its worth it.
Apparently the PQ isnt anything fantastic but its still the best you'll probably see for a long time, as like you say the chances of a re-release is pretty slim.

Plus if you are HD Audio ready, the review here says the AQ is a 4/5 which is great.

I don't know, if its a port of the HD-DVD I think I'll avoid to be honest.

Short of filming my own remake with squirrels for monsters, it's either this or the DVD. Shame Universal couldn't put just a bit of effort into it.

I own it and think the transfer looks pretty damn good. I've read criticism of the video quality but it's nowhere near as bad as they say it is. The way some people carry on, you'd think it's as bad as the most recent Predator release, which it isn't.

I hear the international BD releases of this title are missing extras compared to the USA release. Can anyone confirm?

I have this on HDDVD and it's definitely not as bad as some people are making out....

Going to re-buy it on Blu-ray for convenience.

Not as bad? Not as bad?
Not as bad as what? A kick in the balls?

What're you watching it on? A f**king 14 inch screen?

They allegedly used real people in this movie, not waxworks with forcefield generators.

I'm not in the habit of telling anyone how to spend their money, but come on...

Appreciate the comments one and all. In the end...I bought it...I had a gift card to use for HMV.

Again, I appreciate everybody's comments but I myself am more than happy with the transfer. It's at the very least far better than the R1 DVD from the Attack Pack and a million times better than the Non-Anamorphic R2 DVD that I had for years and years

What's your screen size?
Again, I would probably wait, but the chances of a re-release for this seem very remote...
It's like: stick with the DVD (which I don't have) or get a lousy transfer BD.
