Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky Blu-ray

For those that don't know, Tokyo Shock is releasing this family film on Blu-ray soon!

Man, I want it regardless. I haven't seen this in a long while. I might have to dig through my dvd's and find it again.

Excellent, one of my all-time favorites! So much so that i've already owned three different versions.

Just so u know, Fortune Star has this so Im hoping Tokyo Shock struck their own master becuz if they did license it from FS, then we can only expect the worst.

FYI, Dragon Dynasty briefly held the rights to Story of Ricky but their deal with FS was terminated before they could release it.

Tokyo Shock has the original english dub tho. So if they improve the PQ and have the english dub, I will definitely upgrade it from their dvd that I have.

This has one of the greatest English dubs ever.

With all the HK movies getting releases here, I wouldn't be surprised if this hits the US in the next 12 months.

Got a notification from DiabolikDVD yesterday that they received more copies of the LE edition of the Region B 88 Films release and I snagged that S.O.B. like there was no tomorrow.

Been hoping to grab a copy of the LE for some time now and thankfully, I can finally cross that one off my list.

RIKI-OH on the Criterion Channel actually opens with both the Criterion and Janus logos. Looks like we now know who has the US home media release rights!

Unfortunately, it appears to have the same flat color grading as the 88 Films/Mediumrare Blu-Rays, which is why I haven’t bought the 88 yet in the first place. Not sure why Fortune Star has to do this. :/

I know the Tokyo Shock blu-ray is supposed to be hot garbage but I grabbed it on ebay for 22 bucks in case this continues to be elusive.

Hopefully my purchase leads to an imminent 4k for the rest of you.
