The PC version of Black Ops isn't as bad as some people put it, although I agree it was poorly optimized on PC (framerate problems with my GTX 285?). Black Ops got ranked dedicated servers, adjustable Field of view (if rudimentary), larger player counts, modding support, and even gamepad support, none of which made it to MW3 or MW2 on the PC. Definitely there are still serious problems with Black Ops on PC, but it wasn't the slap on the face MW3 was on PC. Infinity Ward screwed PC owners where Treyarch screwed PS3 owners; both versions got bad deals ultimately, where 360 gamers get the best treatment, although I won't pretend that those versions aren't treated equally.

I'll likely go PC when I get Black Ops II since that they promise dedicated servers, although this attitude about it is souring.

OMG but the Flame Thrower attachment is outright hilarious! Best "gag" attachment in a COD game of all time.

Not a chance, Monty. Black Ops Zombies Moon has a trophy missing from the 360 version, and the fans demanded that Treyarch fix it. They did absolutely nothing about it. So 'Ruchtofens Grand Scheme' became a 360 exclusive achievement.

Any word on a Hardend of Prestige edition of this game, btw? I wonder what content they will recycle this time and include in it!

This is why I prefer IW even though they are just a name now. I've neer felt like scum when it comes to a MW game. But with Treyarchs games everythig seems like a kick in the balls!

No word yet on a hardened edition. But expect it sometime next month when they reveal multiplayer to the public. Not that theres much left to reveal now after everythings been leaked lol.

Monty, with BO2 using the same game engine as MW3 with improvements, Activision are claiming that the new game will run at a rock-solid 60fps on both systems. Activision have had thier arse kicked big time by Battlefield 3 and know they can't show off inferior product in the face of Warfighter. I'm sure that Bo2 will kick ass (and have heavy amounts of Zombies action) just that it's taken a damn long time for team Treyarch to get the wake-up call!

Yes, just wait until they reveal multiplayer next month, they usually announce the hardened edition at the same time.

Seeing as they made a small fortune by including the remastered old Zombies maps in BO Hardenend Edition, any thoughts on what they will include this time? I think the term 'Urine Extration' should be applied if we get Ascension, Call Of the Dead, Shangri La and Moon or some other mixed bag of old content 'redressed' with the SE editions!

Didn't care for Black Ops (and I don't play zombies) and I am not too excited about BO2. Every game that plays in the future has weird weapons as opposed to MW 1-3. That alone makes me want to skip it. And until they release more information and if PS3 gets same treatment as 360, I am in the no camp as of now.

Honestly they shouldn't include any of the BO maps, they should give the new maps all the attention with the new zombie MP gameplay!! No more revisiting older maps!

[Updated] Report – Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Hints, Min PC Specs, Incoming Trailer, Public Demo Event, and More

As we enter the final stretch before Black Ops 2′s multiplayer reveal, which is believed to take place at Gamescom, we’ve decided to compile a list of the latest tidbits and hints that we didn’t think they were worthy of individual pieces. There is a fair amount of speculation down below, so this one is filed under reports.

Multiplayer Debut Trailer?

All signs point to a multiplayer reveal in the next few week, as David Vonderhaar teased on Facebook a screencap of the ESRB rating of a new trailer, which should release soon. The image was only accompanied by this statement, “I have no more tears to shed.”

The key piece of intel here is the length of the trailer. We checked all of the other Black Ops 2 trailers that have been released so far, and none of them is 2 mins 46 seconds long. Thus, this is a new video, but the question remains if it is indeed the multiplayer debut trailer. Only time will tell.

Other Hints From Vonderhaar

On Twitter, Vahn has vaguely hinted at changes in Black Ops 2′s multiplayer. In regards to the motion sensor, when asked by a fan to remove it from the upcoming sequel, Vonderhaar explained that the motion sensor is “completely redesigned to be pro-rusher and not pro-camper. Stay tuned.”

Further, Vonderhaar listed his favorite Call of Duty game modes, teasing that a new one is among his favorites. He said, “Of the ones you know about, Search with Dom in a close second. But my new favorite I can’t talk about yet.” The only new game mode we heard of is the drone hacking FFA wager type mode.

Rumored Low End PC Specs

Original: We spotted the following system requirements on South African retailer BT Games’ website. Keep in mind, you should take these requirements with a pinch of salt, as Treyarch has only confirmed dedicated servers for the PC version. Our own PC Expert Jorik speculates that those are the bare minimum specs, not the recommended ones.

System Requirements:
  • Intel CPU: Celeron E1200 Dual-Core 1.6GHzor
  • AMD CPU: Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 3600+
  • Nvidia GPU: GeForce GT 120
  • AMD GPU: Radeon HD 4550
  • Ram: 2GB
  • OS:Windows XP 32bit (or later)
  • Direct X: DX9
  • HDD Space: 10GB

Update: Treyarch developer known on Twitter as pcdev recently posted that legitimate PC specs will be published soon. All others can be considered fake.

Quote:
Don’t believe any BlackOps2 PC “minimum specs” being reported on various sites. These are bogus. We will release legit ones ASAP.
In response to hopes that it will have ”better optimization than bo1 for the low/ medium end guys.” Pcdev replied,

Much better.

Been searching cached pages and found that Acti have been deleting refrences to a recent leak of Black Ops 2's Trophy/Acheivment list.

So far I've grabbed this, still looking for more.

Dont know if anyone else has seen the videos but appearently the achievement list for black ops 2 is out.
What to expect:
Map-Transit
New zombie types: screecher and Avogadro(boss)
Upgradable bus
Emp's
Equippable items
And finally a possible sidequest!

Could be fake, but you never know. Likely this will be taken down soon. Oh and spoilerific on plot points too. Also makes mention of 2 new Zombie types.

Is it just me or is the whole pre-order bonus scheme a crock of sh!t!?

The earlier you pre-order...the more rewards you get. Fair enough.

But what if you're waiting on the hardened (more expensive) edition...do we lose out on these pre-order bonuses?? If so...that sucks balls!
