Fans of Hitchcock might be interested to know that some cinemas will be showing a selection of his films on the big screen over the next few months - Rear Window, The Birds, Notorious, The Lodger, North By Northwest, Rebecca and Vertigo are all probables. Likely to be very limited screenings but worth keeping an eye out if you live near a cinema that runs those sorts of screenings.

Nice, I'll have to keep an eye peeled for any screenings in the US.

Still waiting on word if the UK set will be region-free!

Marnie has just be passed by the BBFC so it looks like it's going to get a theatrical run.

I watched the documentary a while back and the writer Evan Hunter was talking about how he didn't want to write a rape scene (he wrote an alternative scene which he asked Hitchcock to use instead) and was replaced by a female writer who said he was mistaken not to do it as Sean Connery character could rape Tippi Hendren's Marnie and the audience wouldn't hate him....

The movie wasn't a huge success.

Still hoping for single releases for each film. As much as that box set does look awesome I like to keep certain direcetors films in release date order in my collection so this set wont fit in with the Hitchcocks I already have. HMV does have pages for each film individually but nothing confirmed.

I am also waiting on the single releases and I am sure we will see them shortly after the boxset is released.
I have not seen some of the films included in that set so over half of it would be a blind buy.
I can't wait to own The Birds, that will be my first single purchase.

Yeah, in addition to being region free I'm banking on the UK set being the same. The good news is I have about 10 weeks to to find out for sure!

The font and spacing used in that new packaging shot of the "Hitchcock" lettering surrounding the case looks much classier and elegant. I hope the UK release has it displayed like that as well.

I don't think you need to pray too hard!

Having a quick look on the German site it seems North By Northwest has been removed from the list with the Masterpiece set but is included in a new Warner set which has Dial M For Murder in 3D and Strangers On A Train.

Maby Topaz should also have the common subtitles in the other films in the box?
